Have to agree.

A tackle like that would have been considered a strong part of our game up until probably this year. No one was injured and yet it caused a report.

The umpiring today was abysmal, albeit it had no impact on the game.

How come North have had the same umpire four weeks in a row. He is horrible. Actually the one time he seemed to really impact North badly though was the one game North won recently against Glenelg. He cost North at least five goals that day.

First Nathan Eagleton, now Taylor Walker. Undisciplined thuggery at it's most vicious !
Umpires never make mistakes and I'm happily married. Throw the book at 'em !

That Bayman is a bloody idiot

He rings me at 1-55 this arvo from the Norwood Oval
says

""Mal the ground is a muddy and slushy, WILL be a low scoring game, can you back NW 1-39 and also back NA at the 38.5 start for me, I cant get to the TAB."'

I think , oh yeah why not, so I copycat the same bet
NW 16-14
NA 15-6
total of 31 goals .....

The Walker report has to be a publicity stunt ?
Surely it was done to give Rucci something to Crow about this week

hang on a sec, i did say that the 2's were 19 goals to 6 though & we collected ;)

ps, enjoyed the game, i thought norths lack of discipline at crucial times crushed any chance they had, from 100 metres away walkers report looked like the afl 'sling tackle' extravaganza we've been having in the media, to me nothing in it but given todays climate he'll likely get a game

the farcical deliberate rushed point rule has to go it just gives goals to the opposition

which player sent an sos to get the long stopps sent to the oval ?

i hope the north adelaide ball went well tonight

also while it has been mentioned vaguely what did gallman actually do that was wrong ?, i noticed the booing first & every norwood player at every chance chesting, bumping or verballing him
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Heard an interesting stat just now watching the replay of yesterday's game.

Going into the game yesterday, North had won 10 out of their 12 second quarters played.

Yesterday, this (the 2nd term) was their worst of the game just kicking 2 behinds themselves but allowing Norwood to kick an inaccurate 2 goals 6.

A third generation to play League footy for the Legs, I have mainly see him play ruck in the 2's but he looked really good in defence today and kicked that nice goal.

Has a really promising future I reckon, he shows good skills for a big fella.

Finally a positive comment from the game, only one thing wrong BP, Will Dalwood has played all year at Full Back for the 2's and has been a revelation
earned his spot in yesterdays game and fulfilled his role to perfection

Norwoods game today was crap, looked very lethargic at times, and did enough to keep in front, still won that's all that counts.

Move on to next week

I thought I remember seeing him play in ruck, maybe it was the season before perhaps o some trial games? I was speaking to Dom Shepley pre-game about Will and he said the club has been stoked with Will's improvement and change in attitude has shown in his game.

Wil Dalwood has been used in the past in Ruck and carried out that task well, but you will notice we have a real depth of ruckman and with Stephen Doyle working well back into form and fit we have to find a new role for Wil's talents, watch this player into the future and his new roles.

With all due respects to you both, what Dom would know about the on field performances of any NFC player could be written on the back of a 5 cent piece, best stick to the NFC player committee for future accurate comments, you got his standard reply except change the name.

Dom is a great club administrator.

Cheers,

Good comment, Go Legs, about Big Phil's positive comment about Dalwood.

It's nice to read constructive discussion about a game.

I left at 3/4 time & was surprised that North were so close at the finish. They played almost parkland-style footy at times, just grab & kick & made plenty of basic errors. Norwood seemed to get a ride in the first quarter, with 3 or 4 25 metre penalties being handed out frequently. Lots of attention paid to Eagleton. Lots of good banter. Lots of red wine. Norwood won't be happy with yesterday's result, I don't think. Then again, neither will North. Must be some of Healey's influence creeping through still ;)

Point 1 - oval not fit for outback footy. Apparently had 3 school games on Friday followed by the 3 Saturday. It is NOT at SANFL standard and the club/council fined for the disgrace.

Point 2 - games are all about the umpires not the players ... ala AFL (get rid of the mics and teach them to be NOT noticed - maybe an actors award)

Point 3 - Taylor will get off and not because what he did wasn't very dangerous but because he comes from the chardonay set and the AFL cannot be upset. As for those who think this type of tackle is okay .... crap .... you cannot pin a guy and drive him head 1st into the deck mud puddle or not. That could have broken his neck, a life as you know it ending.

I said it on Cornz & Rowey the other day, there is only 1 reason why you sling a player & that is to injure him. There is no need to do it, we never used to & players still got pinged for holding the ball. Yesterday's tackle was mild though, should get off but it's not necessary.

As I posted on the live score thread, I guess we will see where the SANFL stands on this type of tackle this week.
