Round 14 - Indigenous Round

I think the term "indigenous" is being used by doggies4eva as a general term (I think it relates to original inhabitants of the land or something like that), given that Australian Aborigines aren't the only group of people to come under the label of "indigenous".

My comment about Kamahl was meant to be humourous but if you blokes want a serious debate then indigenous is defined as a group sharing a cultures from a specified place or region.

I have a question. Why do we have indigenous round?

To recognise the part indigenous people play in our game? Whilst you'd hope that everyone's treated equally and the colour of someone's skin shouldn't make a difference in this day and age, I think it is good and a positive week for footy and in general to have a round dedicated to the indigenous. I'm sure there is a long way to go, but footy has become a great medium to showcase the talents of indigenous players and highlight the need for equality in our society.

It was only recently that Mark Naley found out about his Aboriginal heritage, for those that were unaware of the below story.

Which doesn't qualify him so I'm not sure why he has been mentioned.

If you are going to name players who have " indigenous heritage" then maybe we should name Wedgie as a candidate for trainer.

Naley and I are qualified, indigenous = indigenous descent.
It has nothing to do with skin colour or percentages of certain bloodlines.
