Cheers DW, that'll teach me to assume the journo who's article I just read knew what he was talking about.
It'll be interesting to see how many other familiar faces there are in his comp though.
Anyone heard of this Andrew McLeod who's playing for the NT side? ;)

seems like part of the requirement is to have the Foxtel logo on the back.

Glad Norwood aren't involved. :D

Coaches often coach from the bench with no problem.

If you think Norwood can't play a game of footy if the coach has to forego a Coaches box for half a game, that's up to you.

As for providing water runners for both teams, there's nothing that unusual about that. AFL teams only usually bring a couple of trainers and have locals make up the numbers. West trainers have run water for AFL teams and even the WAFL State team in the past.

Fair enough R&B...But can you understand why the other premiership contending SANFL clubs declined the invite? So they can avoid being put into these awful unforseen conditions.

Yes, you're right Riddler.

To coach from the bench for a half of footy and only have 35 tickets is more than anyone should have to bear.

It's just awful.

Mate, just a question.

How can anyone decline an invitation because of 'unforseen conditions'??????

They must be clairvoyants

Most people arent surprised by these unforseen conditions.

Why should the clubs be treated second rate, if its a serious football competition the coaches SHOULD be able to coach from where ever they want.

And so, any discussion not concerning the results of the Foxtel Cup (i.e. general banter) can continue here.

More "unknown/unforseen" conditions, reminds me of the postings we had on this topic back in December. Something to do with making a business and football decision, without knowing the conditions you were agreeing to.

LOL, sad part about it is they'll be better catered for than most coaches at most SANFL games. I assume the top 5 clubs will be pulling out of the SANFL and did so a while back if you listen to some of these clowns.

"OK, you guys, it's Round 1, everything's on the line.

We've had a tough pre-season, you've lumped weights, you've run marathons, you've endured everything we've thrown at you and you're as fit as you've ever been.

When you get out there, I want no quarter given. Put your body on the line, take the hits, get in hard and show them what this club is made of.

It's tough out there and when it's tough, that's when we stand up. Run through them. I don't care whether you're concused or not, you stay over the ball until we've won this game.

Oh, by the way, we're forfeiting the Foxtel Cup match because I can't use the coaches box after half-time."

Well put redandblack. Of all the reasons to not play, the excuses from East Perth have to be the lamest.

Thanks TSG.

Soon I'm off to Prospect Oval.

North Adelaide are renovating their grandstand or facilities. As a result, they will use half of the visitor's changerooms as their rooms today. West will have half the normal size change-rooms and some staff will even have to wait outside at times because of the lack of room. Last year, Westies grandstand was burnt out, but we managed, so we totally understand North's situation today.

We'll accept it as part of life and get on with the game, as we'll do in the Foxtel Cup.

I'm sure the non-competing Foxtel Cup teams would do the same, but some of their supporters complaining about 'unforeseen circumstances" are very, very soft.

Interesting to see both East Perth and North Ballarat coaches wearing Foxtel Cup polos when being interviewed pre-game. No club sponsors on the polos but Foxtel and Coles are prominant.
