I'm up for being bored into the 2030's.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

FWIW: I dont think the current state of play is boring. Just the outcome seems predictable.

Anything can happen during the season. Who'd have thought we'd smash the Dogs consistently in the minor round, it's there to be taken.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

This league is the best in the land, better than the AFL...

Errrm mate, who gets better crowds?

One game at Hindmarsh almost equals the entire SANFL round of attendees.

We have a party when 6,000 go to a game, whereas that crowd is rubbish at Hindmarsh.

Ask the SANFL whether they're on a winner with a one horse race.

No point in having a go at me, I've been following SANFL for 30 years, but just because I love my club, I'm not going to put my head in the sand and say the league is doing itself justice. The 8 crap clubs are letting the league down.

The A-League is a national comp, whereas the SANFL is a state based comp. Lets see how Adelaide Cobras v Cumberland Uniteds crowd stacks up against Port v Norwood.
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

If the eagles win on sunday will we hear people whinging about the dominance of them ,playing in 6 of the last 11 g/f's?
which is better than every 2nd year in a 9 team competition? Pretty dominant performance I reckon.

No, it will be: "Not another Dogs/Eagles Grand Final!"
What it should be if it is the case: "Can the Eagles be only the 2nd team to win from 5th spot?"

Well I'm happy to admit when I'm beaten...

While there have been a number of private and public messages agreeing with me or providing some level of support, it seems the majority of people (at least those that responded in the forum) have not become disillusioned by the predictability of Central beating everyone and anyone just about every September. On that note I'll accept that I'm in the minority on here when I feel that it's all becoming somewhat ho hum etc...

So best of luck to whoever takes on the juggernaut in a fortnights time...

Predictability and dominance to an extent are perceptions of the individual. I don't think this years GF is a certainty by any stretch of the imagination. 18 points in the 2nd Semi for Chrissakes!! The game is well and truly alive and I reckon no matter who fronts up in a fortnights time it will be game on. Having said all that - Go U Dogs

A-haaar! I have caught the great Spell-Meister out at his own game!
Norwood I think in about 1984 won it from 5th. I still remember the severely annoying "history-makers" badges on the cheer squad's duffle coats. They may have even had the damn things printed up in anticipation of winning the premiership during that actual finals series.
Port won it from fifth. I think that year was when they stole it from my very own Double-Blues in 1998.
Eagles would become the 3rd team, if they achieve it.
(Treasures moment, wobbles head, becomes unbearably smug, thinks about send off then decides better of it ;) )
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Probably just as well theri.

Just a guess, but I reckon it may pay to wait a tad before hanging this one above the bar. ;)

I suspect our Sturt supporting friend has fallen for the media driven propoganda of "second team to win from elimination final" that surrounded that 1998 Port side.

I'm tipping they came from 4th.

Yes Central dominate the finals but a couple of things balance this up.

- We are seeing history in the making re the greatest dynasty in the leagues history.

- Central do lose the occassional grand final, usually when they are the heaviest favourite. Ask Claremont in the WAFL who lost the GF on Sunday by 1pt after dominating the season.

- They hardly dominate during the minor round often finishing 2nd or 3rd when they turn it up a gear in the finals.
so its not like they are unbeatable for 11 years, just in minor finals.

- Great competitions need a villian. I think New York Yankees in baseball, Collingwood in AFL and Port Magpies in recent decades in the SANFL. We are all past being happy that Central have finally had premiership success. Make them the SANFL Villian, the team everyone hates. Get the challenger to unite all the "other" supporters around them for the day (aka like St Kilda on Saturday) and then everyone has an interest in the GF.

- Sets up a great battle amoung the other clubs, who will be the one to finally topple the Dogs.

Even the Scottish Premier League is more interesting,at least there are 2 teams that can win the League unlike the SANFL.

The club has earnt success after being an unrespected and underachieving club in the 20th century

Quite simply the best club deserves to win flags
As some of the CD barrackers on SAFOOTY post, its up to the other clubs to raise the bar and bridge the gap

Eventually like the Roman Empire, Gheghis Khans army, Hitlers regime, all things come to an end
How did they all falter ?
predominately the other nations lifted thier game and beat them

Fair call, however be good if some of their fans turned up more than once a year.

Id Much prefer my clubs fans rock up on mass at the same time every year.

Than my club go missing at the same time every year. ;)

Look I reckon the sanfl should just ban centrals for a year so someone else can win a 2nd semi final, then all you sooky la-la i'm takin my bat and ball and i'm going home WHINGERS can find something else to sook about.

Seriously ffs there isnt one dogs supporter I know that is more than 50/50 confident of winning if we face the legs in 2 weeks.

Ok, maybe 60/40
