Yeah good one you know the answer it was once by sturt in 76. Just stick to reflecting on your clubs pi$$ poor season rather than reflect on past glories hours after the season is finished.

Actually... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I didn't know that.

I knew we did it once, but would never have thought no one else had.... just expected that it would have been unusual, much like you winning from an Elimination Final... so apology please!!!! I can be a reflective tosser at times, but in this instance, it was an honest question.

Now if you'd like to talk about 1976, then I'm happy to oblige! :-)

1/2 TIME
GL 1-2
NW 6-7
Bays fumbled and turnoved over the ball a bit this qtr
NW were relentless LOWERS tackles awesome

I thought I saw a giant Roger Woodcock in this qtr
DAWE baulked, spun around on his left foot and snapped a splinterdick type goal

Speaking of blasts from the past
whaddabout the minature Neil Balme lookalike in the NW forward Cameron Shenton ...

NW 35 points up
But the 2nd half fade out at the Bay a couple of weeks ago still in everyones memory banks

UMPIRES DECSIONS
GL 2
NW 4
NW getting the benefits at 1/2 time
That includes the Mills deliberate when the game was nil all

This situation Glenelg are in reminds me of 2005. Consider the number of wins each team had this year and in 2005:

2005:
Central 15 5 -
Eagles 15 5 -
Port 12 8 -
North 12 8 -
Sturt 11 9 -

2010:
Central 15 5 -
Glenelg 15 5 -
Norwood 12 8 -
Sturt 11 8 1
Eagles 11 9 -

Both us and Glenelg lost top spot late in the season to Central. Both lost the Qualifying Final despite have the three game break after the minor round. Now, if you follow that script, Glenelg will make it to the GF.

Simply, Norwood's attack on the ball and the body shellshocked Glenelg from the start and this playing group probably haven't encountered something so fierce and so sustained in their recent finals history, except perhaps the 08 GF. Every Norwood player was prepared to commit his body, right down to little Donoghue, and not all challengers to Centrals over the past few years have had this.
To me it seems Norwood have to base their game on that rolling flood/zone and tackling pressure on the bloke with the ball because they don't have a lot of height in their backline, and so need to rely on poor delivery rather than tall defenders, but once they get the ball, their run was as exciting to watch as any in the SANFL for a while.
Shenton will be a beauty I reckon. Long time since Norwood have had a forward like him, and unfortunately I doubt it will be a while before they see him again.

I don't know the attendance last year (Spelly?), but this seems pretty poor. Perfect day- weather wise, no AFL, free parking etc etc.
Norwood looked very good yesterday. Sturt :D

Phil Herden said on LifeFM yesterday that it was about 1,000 more than the corresponding final this time last year, but still dissapointing for mine...

To quote Dedja "Errrr, and the Parade is bigger than Glenelg?

And Norwood have been battle hardened in finals?

Best of luck ... keep clutching.

Anyone heard from Dedja ???? How is the "Bay Belly" going this week ???
