As I said, I've got no idea what happened and I couldn't really give a toss. They have to fend for themselves now and if they're going to repeat stupid behaviour then they deserve whatever they get.
All I know is that once again my wife and I will be well away from them next week except for taking pics of the banner at the start of the game.

Well it'd be good to catch up with you at half time somewhere...

CUTTERMAN wrote:As I said Mick, from our great win at the fortress we have turned this final into a 50/50 chance from what wouldve been 60/40 at best, now if Godden didn't think it important or possible to get 3rd spot and a double chance OR have it over Sturt mentally with 3 wins in one season then that's fine, but I don't know where you're getting this "we've already got this final wrapped up" stuff from, I certainly haven't read it on this forum.

you need to read a few more threads then cutterman .Try this one

here you go quoting your mate CSBOWES(pitty he is back in the 70's with the club name )

I have to say... I'm confident we'll roll both Torrens and Norwood in successive weeks.

The team is really pumped at the moment, 6 wins in 7 weeks and against a lot of the top sides... they're confidence is high and they've been doing it with little contribution from Chambo due to conditions... if we get a warm, dry day next week... it could be on!

One sparrow doesn't make a spring Mick!
I think by far the majority of Sturt supporters on here aren't going overboard but are confident heading into the Elimination Final going on recent form and fair enough but I really think you and LEH are milking this a bit.
If you're going to quote CSBOWES and take it that that is what the majority of Blues supporters think then that'll back up a weak argument and that's all.
We all know that this Sunday is another game and everything starts afresh.
As I said before, after last Sunday I now think it's 50/50. What wouldve you given your chances of a win in the final
A. If you had won last week
B. That you lost last week
Serious question

Sturt supporters: We're happy to be there after the shit start we've had to the year, we have to be confident of winning based on recent form.

Eagles supporters: You lot think you've got the flag won already! Oh FFS.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

I know this week is "another game" and both teams start "even money" to win... but I'm not going to back away from what I believe to be the case, Sturt will win because they're the better team. If Torrens win, then I'll have egg on my face and will endure the barbs of many an Eagles fans on here and deservedly so...

I don't shy away from that for one moment and I'll happily come on here and say "I'm wrong".

Happy with that...

That said...

Sturt will win this even with me in the goal square.

I can't help but think if we'd finished with 4.18 and lost by 5-6 goals again, Torrens fans would be clinking champagne glasses around about now...

OK so maybe you've proven that you weren't in the cheer squad but with the constant use of Torrens in all your posts, were you one of the Sturt fans in front of the grandstand harping on about us being two teams?

P.S. Sorry CSBowes - clearly no issue for you

Like Voice, I used to be in the Cheer Squad, if that makes you feel better! :-)

What year(s) ?

I would guess it was around 1991 onwards... on and off in some years, right up to about 2002... I mainly hung with big Jim, Fred, Con, Ang, Barto and later with Voice... I was on the Marketing and Fundraising Committee at the club from 1991 and represented the CS then to the GM, getting $$$ for materials and so on, but I was not the CS leader by any means, just one of the gang and a bit more formerly involved with the club for a few years. But then I moved to England in 2000 and didn't return until 2005, except for 2002 when I flew back for the Prelim and GF!

Looks like I just missed you then. I was in the SCS from 1983 to 1989 or there abouts. I retired to the abr after my seven years of service and spent the dark years mostly watching from the hill.

Well said Cutter. I have been logging on for a few days now and just shaking my head at the nonsensical waffle a couple of Eagles fans have been laying out after latching on to one man's opinion.
Glad you have taken the bother of explaining the situation, but my experience on this forum has taught me that, sadly, I don't believe it will make one lick of difference to them.

Bring on this weekend, should be a great game. I am sure the Eagles will come out fighting a lot harder this time around. Contrary to the far-fetched opinion that every Sturt fan thinks they have won the Grand Final already, this one fan is approaching this game understanding that anything other than our best could mean a quick exit.
I do believe our best is good enough however. (ducks head; any positive comments gauranteed to enrage some fans ;) )

The reason I bother Theri is that I clearly don't have a life, any resemblance of good character traits nor anyone that I could call a genuine friend (apart from my 15yo German Shepherd who died on me last Nov....I actually had him put down because I could see that after 15 years of living with me he was finally bored to near death), so I'm afraid it's you all out there on SA Footy land that are my only friends.

Sturt fans must get confused Hopefully Jelly we aren't Torrens any more .And there club the double blues have a jumper with white in it.So why aren't they the double blues and white ?
CSBOWES I was following West Torrens and now Woodville West Torrens probably long before you ever started watching football.
And the only thing that hasn't changed is the fact that sturt produces stuck up arrogant fans(thats the way your post CSBOWES come out). And the best example would be the cheer squad .

You're saying the best example of a stuck up arrogant Sturt fan is the cheersquad. I'm saying they're all dole bludgers, hence my reply above.
