According to the SANFL stats (from what I can work out) Brodie Martin has played 4 games for Sturt, therefore only needing 1 more game to qualify for finals, does anyone know if this is correct or has he already qualified?

Go back to the start of this thread for the list of qualified players (see - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29542) or check out the link on the LocalFootySA site (see - http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl ... 5901792092) and you will see Brodie has in fact qualified for finals for the Double Blues...

Cheers BP, I'm not normally a fan of LocalFootySA, might have to give it another go.

With the last round coming up fo rthe AFL this week and the SANFL the week after, can Walker play for Norwood in the last minor round and qualify for SANFL finals? or does he need to be dropped this week for this to happen? Is there a rule about when the AFL season is over?

If he don't play this week, thats it. AFL listed players who play rd 22 of the AFL can not play Rd 23 of the SANFL. Exhibit A Ryan Willits who couldn't play the rd 23 quasi Elimination Final against South for the Bays in 2006.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Salter will not play for the Eagles for the rest of the year. He is finished after this weekend (more than likely he will not even play this weekend for the Power).

Expect a heap of players to be unavailable IMO, Crows and Port will be keen for their players to return early for pre season, therefore need to get their 8 weeks "leave" out of the way so they can start again late oct/early nov

just my opinion, we have a rare year where neither club is in the finals, when the AFL clubs have been in the finals (even if its just the first week) they seem to be pretty comfortable in letting players play finals for a week of 2 after they finish, but this year with neither making it they are already planning for 2011 and player management will be being discussed right now.

Only players who are 100% fit will get the all clear I reckon.

I wonder what all this means...

After the game, Craig said several other players including Ivan Maric (hip), Brodie Martin (hip), Ricky Henderson (hip) and Chris Schmidt (knee) were scheduled to have minor surgery in the coming weeks.

"We've got guys going in for operations as early as next week and some of those guys played tonight," Craig said.

Not sure about Schmidt, I think he's qualified too.

It means those blokes won't be playing for their SANFL clubs in the finals.

I think Salter has a 3 week injury. Wants to play finals, but Port not too keen. If Eagles make it through the first week or so of finals, may see him back.

There might be some aggro between the Eagles and power re the treatment of Banner playing in the reserves....it might now be payback time for the power in regards to allowing qualified players to play in the SANFL finals.
