It's an excellent compilation but realistically should be posted on the Music board....... ;)

Basically that he was disappointed players were involved and it would seem that all parties should take some blame. Was extremely diplomatic and focussed on what the Club is going to do better - hardly even mentioned your mob at all. SANFL to investigate and Club will co-operate fully.

voice with all due respect to you as you seem to have some common sense but from where i sit, with all the bad publicity your cheer squad has been subject to, surely it is time to pull the pin for the sake of everyone involved, not only your own club but for the sake of the league, you guys have been dogged with bad behaviour for how many years now? enough is enough, by all means go to the footy and follow your club but ffs the bad element that your cheersquad attracts surely isnt worth it, i may have set myself up to be shot down but how many times do we have to put up with the news that there has been an incident involving your cheersquad?

I came back into the cheersquad 2 years ago to try and stop all of the goings on and have been pretty successful in doing so up until now.
This may shock you to hear this but the thought has come across my mind to pull the pin myself. Ther problem with this is the same people will still group together and will then be less identifiable when something occurs.
In saying that I may have to pull myself out of the position of running the cheersquad as I'm about to add the first new member of the voice clan later this year and I don't want to have this sort of drama in my life.
Tomorrow I will no doubt be fielding phonecalls from the SANFL and also the police I guess and it's not a position I want to be in.
Who can take over that is responsible will be the question and my answer to that is I can't think of anybody so this may be the end of the cheersquad. If it is then so be it.

When was the last big incident besides this weekend stampy ?

I think the sturt cheer squad adds lots of colour to the game with the amount of floggers etc at most games.
This has been noted many times on this forum too.
If VOICE leaves, i doubt the settling influence each weekend will be there.
The kids wont be able to wave a flogger, but the hangers on, that VOICE has been trying to encourage to stay away from the group will still be there.
Just cause they stand close by doesn't mean they are part of the group.
But what is an official cheer squad these days anyway.
There are no duffle coat badges or jackets etc to identify.
Do the AFL make cheer squad members wear a lanyard ID of sorts ?
I know you weren't being too critical stampy, just trying another perspective.

last year at glenelg, the mini league ready to start and a group of said cheer squadders decide they will walk through the centre of the ground thus holding up the start of the game, when asked to get a move on some fat idiot with a sturt flag tells the official to eff off amongst other things in front of the kids. great advertisement for his footy club. this slob then went on to tell anyone who cared to listen that he did what he wanted, and everyone else can go to hell. south game not so long ago a person got smashed leaving the ground courtesy of some dumb arse who was associated with the cheersquad. need i go on?? this is adelaide smithy not bloody glasgow, these idiots have no place at our game, me and my family attend most games and if this crap continues to happen people like us will be lost the sanfl

Stampy, the South incident was 2006, before I returned to take over the cheersquad so I wouldn't say that was recent.
The incident at Glenelg I wasn't in attendance and this is the first I've heard about it. I'm sure it would have been reported and in turn reported to me by Matt Benson had it been a cheersquad member. When I speak to Matt today I will ask him about that one.
This is why I'm pulling the pin on my involvement though as I'm as sick of having incidents as I am of defending the cheersquad.
