If he's been cited in retrospect it'll be hard to imagine him getting off. I'm tipping a reprimand. What I find amazing is Willits isn't cited for his. Of the two, Willits was worse IMHO. Hartlett's deserved 25, but at least the ball was somewhere around the mark.

That's what I thought as well. I thought the 25 was punishment enough for that one.

Willit's not being cited is just bizarre - it was a clear hit 10 metres off the ball right in front of an umpire. How the hell that wasn't cited is beyond me.

That's why I wanted to see a replay. The ump was right there, they've done nothing since and cited the more minor one as I saw it. I've got to take my lumps and say I was wrong about it then, but I'd rather verify it. Lol.

I spoke to the same umpires observers who advised me about Hartlett likely to be cited in regards to the Willits on Jenner incident...

They said that apparently the incident wasn't caught on tape?

I'll be watching the replay of this game sometime soon, will post what was seen or not seen for that matter...

I can understand it not being caught on tape as it happened a fair distance behind the play. That made it a more callous act and one that the officiating umpire should definitely have reported. I think Ryan can consider himself a very lucky young man.

Yeah there is no footage of the Willits incident. They replayed the Hartlett incident quite a few times from different angles. Should get at least ONE game for his flying elbow to the back of Switalas head.

Even if Willits did get reported he would get off......no-one is going to believe that he actually hit something he was aiming for..............

Should of got atleast a match...as shown on the ABC replay, he went into that contest with a completely bent arm so he would of either hit Switty in the head with his forearm or elbow...

So late elbows to the back of the head are OK, but late bumps (Grima and Salter) aren't..... OK then...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Hartlett's was contesting the ball (or at least the ball was near enough to be considered a possible target). Reprimand a fair result if he's got no history. Late bumps with force are just cowardly and have no place in the game. If you're not able to get to the contest soon enough to contest the ball or make a legitimate tackle you don't earn the right to hit someone. If you want to be tough and intimidate work hard and get to a contest.

Willits very lucky if it's a lack of footage that got him off. The umpire was 20m away with a clear line of sight and appeared to be looking in the general area at least.

Disagree, Grima and Salter were no later than what Hartlett was and they didn't resort to a raised elbow which has no place in footy. A bump is legal still in the game (just) and if Hartlett had a straight arm at least trying/attempting to spoil, yep OK but an elbow???

Agreed am Bays. No excuse for the late elbow. Hartlett jumped in the air to make contact, contact was late to the head and the player elbowed had to leave the ground. The only case in favour is if he has a "clean record".
