NORWOOD HAVE PROVEN THEY DON'T NEED TAYLOR WALKER TO WIN, however he'd be a handy acquisition when he does play for them, very doubtful in the near future though
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

What a great game of football, tough, hard contested footy.
With both teams being relentless in tackling & pressure.
Thoroughly enjoyable game to watch with a great result.
Fantastic advertisement for SANFL footy

Interesting to hear Neil Craig (no that wasnt the interesting part) mention last night that he'd attended this game and in reference to the contested ball made a comment along the lines of "That game was harder than an AFL game"

He might expect a "please explain" from the AFL after a comment like that!

Unbeknown to some of my loyal followers  i have played over 300 games and a few premierships.
I need to have reasoning behind every situation, including when i apologise to my ruckman because i yelled at him in public, and when i backflip on selection decisions to please the mob and have been known to get sidetracked sometimes...OH!
Hardness at the ball?
Sorry Andrew.
I'd be more worried about the other team down the road in that statistic ;)

He was sitting just up from me in the stands with Robert Oatey and some friends and was taking a very keen interest in the game overall (presuming he was mainly there to watch Jack Gunston, Ricky Henderson and Brad Symes).

Obvious is it not, to learn how to play real football, I agree with almost all posters here, it was a great advertisement for SANFL football and a credit to the players and coaches of both sides

Beats watching ring around a rosie crap the AFL dishes up every week.

Cheers

Nice change for Craigy to go to The Parade and not watch Taylor Walker. As most others have said, a superb game of footy from both sides. Noticed that Simon Phillips is not in the top 20 in The Advertiser's player of the year. Have to question judgement that gives votes to Gallagher and Lower; they're good hard-working players, but they don't change the game like Phillips does. I reckon he might be in the top 2 or 3 for the MM at this stage. (That's from someone who's seen him play twice this year!)

Couldn't agree more. At the moment he is the biggest game breaker in the league. Against North at Prospect he absolutely blew the game apart with his pace and finishing, he apparently did the same at Woodville and now his great effort at the Parade on Sunday.

I was corresponding by email with someone who knows a lot more about footy than anyone of us on here, and he can't believe that he isn't on an AFL list with that pace and finishing.

I agree with most of the comments re Phillips, he is a great player...

I think the one thing he needs to work on, and even his coach agreed when asked about 'Flipper' is his consistancy through a game...

He is more than capable of havong those 'flash in the pan' moments of brilliance but if he can string that across 4 quarters, he'd be a star !!

For what it's worth, I reckon he might still be a chance to be on the list of 'potential' mature age recruits for the new franchises coming into the AFL.

Phillips standing as one of the biggest gamebreakers is justified, however his output earlier in games hasn't always been as high .. Nick Lower misses a lot of kudo's but he's been awesome thus far, and I think the fact that these 2 are having such great seasons + McGuiness + Puopolo + Hughes + Zorsi + Campbell being back + Trotter when available is where the key is for Norwood - It's an allround contribution and usually if one is down for a quarter or so, another steps up.

I agree he is bloody quick (a physical aspect all clubs want), his work rate has improved this year (not injured) plus he knows where the goals are. Wouldn't look out of place back on an AFL list.

Also good to see all the 'Legs fans re-discovering this site in the last few weeks. I mean even 'ol REB has ventured up from the AFL boards recently. Didn't even know he knew the SANFL forum existed!!! ;)
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Quiet you! I mean, come on...I've seen this movie so many times...Central win the flag, Glenelg cock up another dominant minor round...this year's movie so much better. Just remember you blokes you're only as good as your last game against Centrals.

So far!
