Great story for Matty Wright to finally get on an AFL list, well done to him.

Coad a big loss for Sturt, obviosuly !!

Carter did not attend the late 2009 state based screening. A left field selection.

Jack Carter is a big, strapping key position player. He was highly rated, but his 2009 season was affected by injury.

Nick Westhoff, as you would expect, is a marking forward (a sort of Westhoff type ;) )

So will be interesting to see where James Meiklejohn ends up after not getting picked up...

Will he play with the Magpies or over in Perth as rumoured. Jack Hannath from Central not picked and I did hear a whisper if he didn't get drafted, he was going to give up on SANFL and go back to the Barossa League ?

Hope not true, the lad may get an opportunity to play at League level with the Dogs if Giles, who wasn't picked up, goes to Sturt as expected.

From purely a very very very selfish point of view UUUUDOGS.

It will be intersting to see how some of the Central players deal with not being picked up as this is probably the end of the AFL dream for a few of these lads what more could they do at SANFL level. Laird will have a grin from ear to ear right now.

WINNERS

North Adelaide -will be RAPT to have matty wright stay in Adelaide
Central- to not lose a single player will be a massive relief to the coaching staff.
Eagles, South, Glenelg- will be very happy to not lose any current league regulars so it would have to be a win

LOSERS

Sturt - good luck trying to find a player who can play nearly every position on the ground at a decent standard
West - while getting to keep Webb was a massive bonus once again they have been hit by losing a few youngsters interstate

NUETRAL

Port and Norwood lost minimal and mainly reserves players so no real win or loss IMHO

Once again these are just how i see it im sure alot will disagree but there we go.

Gigantic waste of talent if that is the case. Very good pair of hands, good below the knees, developed his tapwork very well in the second half of the season and can play up forward. Would be really, really disappointed for him if he chose not to play at the best level possible to give himself a shot...

Like I said CK, it was just a whisper I heard...

Having seen the majority of Jack's games at reserves level for the Dogs, I'd be bery dissapointed to see him walk away from the SANFL, he certainly has the potential to be a very good player at league level.

May just be reactionary comments as to how dissapointed he will be not getting picked up, but like you say, he only needs to have a good year in reserves and league level this year and he will e every chance to be picked up again next year.

Ezard was never going to go.

What can Bays fans tell me about Cam Hitchcock. Looking at his stats, his a big goalkicker.

I don't really understand why someone like Sydney would pass so often and not pick up someone like Hannath. Are they that close to the salary cap or something ? Non mature age rookies cost stuff all.

Who would've still been drafted arguably if it was still U/19s....

As I've said ad-nauseum R&B its the kids not the system that are the biggest variable in drafting success - the advantage of the U/19s is that helps the AFL AND the SANFL clubs. it helps our clubs sustain the late developers for league football.

Don't bother replying mate I'm not going to change your mind you ain't going to change mine.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Now comes to interesting time when all those players not selected in the draft start to find a new club.

Anyone know what a club gets renumerated for "losing" a player to the rookie list?

would it be fair to say Coad would be one of the hardest players in the SANFL to replace due to his versatility, and due to the fact if his replace with a victorian they will be probably be expecting a larger salary than the local product would expect.
