It's called karma baby and it's happening now as the Power's patently inadequate Board and admin, saddled with a hopelessly optimistic business plan, run off cap in hand crying poor to an organisation they once tried to royally screw.

I agree in principle with Booney's point about the pain of a club folding and not wishing it on others, my club has come perilously close in recent times. Happily, as I'm morally flexible, I'll make an exception for Port. They can GTF as far as I'm concerned.

Enjoy the rewards from your frequent flyer points to Tasmania Port 'fans'.

As this thread goes WAY off track.... Ginever who, gone where???

but oh to be a fly on the wall if Laurie Rosenwarne was still CEO/GM of the Glenelg Footy Club when Port Power made contact with the SANFL clubs to outline their need for a financial restructure of their relationship with the SANFL.... Given the events of 1990 and his role in teh ensuing court cases, one does wonder what he would've said.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

You could have Fos coaching that side and they'd still be bottom. If you don't have the players........

I dont post very often but read many topics.

BUT I will say that I will never ever forget the day that the news broke that Port was talking to the VFL to join the comp.

Port can rot in hell if all I care and I will never in my lifetime even respect that club again.

I think I am not the only person in SA thinking many peoples thoughts as 2 years ago when they played Geelong in the GF, the local pub was 95/05 % for Geelong in a pub in Sth Aust. DO YOUR MATH!!!!

Tim.......i too have heard your break speaches......Just go.

forget for a minute whether tim can coach or not i think ports biggest mistake in recent years was losing paul belton & they lost him because he was a backer of matty knights & most others were not

agree with all of that apart from the last statement as i'd personally would like him to stay & thus ensuring port not returning as a powerhouse (no pun intended) in the near future

Geez, eddie eagle.

Bit of gratitude wouldn't go astray.

You wouldn't have a club to barrack for if not for Port Adelaide.

West Torrens were formed by Alberton refugees...

Thanks Port. Thanks for stinking up the place this year. Smells much nicer than the usual Alberton fragrance.

It could be said that West Torrens was founded by people with enough sense to leave alberton or Port Adelaide. ;)

As I've said before, perhaps if you'd given $2 to your own club it wouldn't now be called Woodville/ West Torrens! :-bd

I guess $2 is better than the RUMOURED $2 Million going to PAFC from the SANFL, matched by another $2 Million from the AFL!!

FFS... that's the way to run a business, use the 'GM Business Plan' - run yourcompany into the ground by paying high wages @ the top (i.e. Mark Williams), then go broke, & beg to be bailed out - then get the SANFL (9 other clubs) to 'wipe'your debt & not help your compeditors !!!

Answer me this;

2 guys own a different Deli each, on the same road.
1 guy has a thriving business because he marketted his shop better - granted he was there first & had some existing customers.
The 2nd guy opens his shop but fails to run it as efficiently as the other guy - eventually after 13 years, going broke.

Does the local govt. bail him out - wipe his debts & say "Ok mate, start again"?

I think not!!!

They say; "Sell your assets to pay your debts, change your business plan (by 'trimming the fat' - WAGES etc.) & if that doesn't work, go out of business"
