You can't tell me he wouldn't perform the role that a Daniel or Giuffreda would and do it about 1000 times better. Or even have him perform the role of Grocke or McGregor and have one of these guys share some ruck duties with Dabrowski (they'd offer more than Roberts or Lee). I don't see the point of swapping Roberts for Lee. Both offer as much as each other and Roberts has had plenty of opportunities, while Lee has had one. To have Daniel, Wright, Roberts and Giuffreda selected above Salter is unexplainable.

I don't think the Eagles can use the excuse of playing 48 players (or whatever the number is) when they look back on this season. Many of the selections haven't worked when there have been other choices available. Even if this team beats Norwood this week, it won't beat Port the week after.

Salter in the 2's? Are the Eags tanking?

Doesnt say mush for the bays last week to lose to a side tanking

Doesn't say much for the Eags tanking ability. That's why you're not 9th.

Well, Salter wasn't in either the Reserves or League last week, and hasn't been available for either side over the course of 3 matches, so we can win without him.

Nothing personal against him, but if Jesse Aish plays league this week then the Norwood Selectors should sack themselves!

The selections at times this year for the Eagles have been very hard to follow , much like how we have used Schwarz since hes been at the club . But this week is the most surprising by some way I think , its almost like Fuller , Rudegers & Jeffries toss a coin to see whose turn it is to pick next ! Lee is dead stiff with Roberts coming in , considering his lack of inpact all year , but Ron is great mates with his Dad ! Its got to be the weather forecast & the state of the oval , as its a pseudo final . Personally , I dont really understand why Fitzy got dropped after the start to his season , but would seem to be a game he should have some impact on tomorrow . Graffitti might be a cunning selection in bad weather , being a scrapper , to do a shutdown job on one of the Legs tall forwards . We have the balance it seems , but need some rain me thinks !

Jesse's game in the reserves last week was probably the worst I've seen him play. I dont think it's fair to Jesse, other players in better form or supporters and members to place him in this positon. Especially in the most important game our club has played in 6 years!

However if Jesse does play he will have my full support, as will all our players, even Jericho!

Funny I thought fitzy was the leading goal kicker then was dropped .
Still would have liked a spot for Jolly in the forward line maybe next year.
Am interested to see the game plan this week if we can start in the first quarter then Norwood might be up against a fuller/jeffries/reardon miracle.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

4 boundary umpires - if above post correct - should make for very quick throw-ins and getting ball back to centre as they shouldnt be caught behind play - may put extra pressure on rucks and followers to be right up with play???

Very interesting night at the selection table for the Eagles. I like the inclusion of Roberts but not at the expense of big jono lee I think they should have given him another chance. Understandable also is the fact that cicca is having another run in the 2's. This none the less is a very handy side and we will take it right up to the legs. A loss is certainly doesn't mean curtains unless Port beats Glenelg. We do need to control our own destiny though so a win is crucial. My tip is the Eagles in a hard fought close game by 17 points.
