holden78 can't you find another club to white ant?

If you want change then attend meetings, vote at the meetings, put yourself up for a candidate for the board or even apply for the coaching position

the ceo position is vacant?

apply!

according to you we would obviously be in better hands with you in control calling the shots!

did you make the effort to get close to the coaching box or bunker to listen to what goes on?

front runner!

Guess again big fella...

Given TB's history of online involvement in the FootySA days - i.e. from 2002, the last thing you can call him is a front runner....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Well said Big Phil , at least your team had the class to do the business on the weekend , & dont they hate you for it ! Now CCL you know very well that its a closed shop , & most years there are no elections due to no nominations . No one fancies working with that lot on the board mainly due to being given very little say in anything football ( onfield ) related . Remember what they did to Sabine ? If you dont then take the time to find out & you might be very suprised my friend ! History is filled with those who were persecuted for being in the minority & its not white anting if its the truth ! ! ! !

Ha ha ha, point taken Tassie, but up until I joined, I did not have access to the internet, so there...

No point doing all the smileys anymore, you can only 4 these days, far from a "plethora" one would think

Good on holden78 for saying how he feels, isn't that what a public forum is for anyway :D

Is it not fair to say that with the recent success of Glenelg on field, it has bought more fans out of the woodwork, which is natural really isn't it ? I was just going along with holden78 (and plenty of other club supporters) calling some Bays fans front runners and technically it is true, shown by the upturn in crowd numbers for Glenelg games. Success bring fans back to the game, so in the technical sense of the word, it is true. I did not single my "frontrunner" comment directly at TB, so I don't see where you are coming from singling me out as a front runner.

I have been following the Dogs since about 91 (born in 81) and can admit that with our recent success this decade there would no doubt be plenty of front runner supporters coming on board but I'm certainly not one of them. I think to pigeon hole individuals is not fair, unless you know them personally, but it is only natural, like I say, to associate an increase of on field success with better followings and crowd attendances. If that is how you describe a front runner, than lets face it, at some stage every club has had a period of front runners, right now, it is Glenelg's turn more so than other clubs. Learn to accept it, but don't go and individualise people when you don't know the facts.

Cheers,

BP :D

I am wondering Holden78 if the wheel is not turning for the Board as well .So no one nominates [-( . The feeling amongst many of the fans is its time for a change of board as well Coach.I will add not CD he does a fantastic job even talks to the likes of myself on game day .

So perhaps CCL does not talk CRAP when he says do something .Perhaps if "WE" all did something "WE" can change what is happening at our "CLUB".
Number 1 issue I want my team like to win Grand finals like CENTRALS
Number 2 I want a full time coach who is up with modern coaching tactics and open to suggestion from his coaching assistants

Number3 I want a better recruitment division. A professional full time person.
Number 4 An accountable Board who change on a regular basis Male or Female Board members who ever will do the best job

So how does one go about nominating for WWT's board. Not for a mere process worker like myself but some Eagle Fan out there with a bit more know how ?

Micky - as with any club the nominations are called for by way of ads in paper, on web site, notice of the AGM etc. People then have 4 weeks to get nomination in.

If at close of nominations there are more than the number required election held.

Nomination forms are available from the club when positions called. Given the AGM is in February I dont know the date but will find out and let you know.

As regards the board we have had 2 new faces this year as confirmed at the AGM last February and it is less than 2 years ago that elections were necessary. Which also saw a new person elected to the board. 3 new members in the past 18 months.

I'd encourage any member who wishes to nominate to do so and happy to talk to anyone interested.

holden78 - the reason why I and many other posters take no notice of what you say is the extremes you go with. At every opportunity you attack in a negative manner. Having a go at young players, like Fairclough for example, is just utter garbage. Some of what you say makes a lot of sense, but I suggest you hire an interpreter to get your point across because those who matter, if they even read this forum, would brush your comments aside. If the club/board was run with the negativity you demonstrate on this site we would be an absolute basket case.

As for Fuller, I would trust him enough to make a decision on what is best for the football club. If he believes he can build a premiership team in say 2 years and he wants to stick it through, then by all means honour his contract and get in place what needs to be put in place to make it happen. He has done it before and if he wants and believes he can do it again, then back him 100%.

Personally, I think the team needs fresh and exciting ideas and a fresh plan of attack. This happened in 2006 with the introduction of MacGowan and Norman as assistants. If Fuller and the club can produce something fresh, then maybe he is the right man for the job. If not, it might be best to go with the Sturt/Glenelg model of starting from the start and building with a good coach (whoever that might be) and a strong squad on a long term plan to sustain success as we did back in 1998.

The recent success the club has had both on field and off field would suggest the right people are in place to make decisions on what is best for the club and therefore make us mere fans happier than we have been this season when we go home on Saturday nights!

Not going to argue with the young Aerie but has time caught up with the EAGLES .After a very good run of 10 years is it time to start the ball rolling for the next ten years ?

Treeby up forward ! Nice one Ron , worked a treat & could be a look at next years line up assuming we get the midfield recruits we need . That said , Ive just got this feeling we will lose quite some personel , not just Colville retiring . Schwarz is of most interest , as his 2 year contract is up & no word of his re signing . My mail has him possibly wearing a much darker uniform next year if that club gets their way ! Schwarz & Ron just dont seem to be on the same page , clearly their not getting the best out of the situation & the team has suffered as a result . He looks to me to be a guy whos a bit of a one trick pony , but its a pretty bloody good one at SANFL level , & Im not sure if 2 years on now Ron has worked it out ? Seems a huge waste , especially with Passa leaving . Thoughts fellow Eagles ?

Guys... aren't we missing the point regarding the club???

My original statement was about the DIRECTION the club is taking.

As for the Board/President...

I am yet to hear them come out (either publicly or by writing to the members of the club, & I am one) & state...

The LONG TERM PLAN for OUR Footy Club.

If they fail to act soon, then I fear that we will NOT be around in 10 to 20 years.
That is a FINANCIAL certainty in my view, as the majority of our supporters are OVER 55 years old.
The on-field success of recent times - 5 GF's & 1 PF have 'hidden' these issues from us.

WE NEED A PLAN & A DIRECTION... to simply change the logo of the club is NOT enough, changing the MARKET FOCUS is the key here.

I would think every club would have this problem

also think about the fact that the SANFL is probalbly the only football game that pensioners can afford to go to and that is why you see a lot of elderly people there

the costs to attend AFL games would be out of the question to the majority of pensioners

I doubt we will hear any thing about direction form the club until a new CEO is appointed
