Agree. Ridiculous situation.

So you're happy to repay the transfer money for Randell Jolly and Patty Carpenter from the early 90s when told they weren't required at the Eagles???
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

North are swimming in $$$ so if the coach wants the player then give him the $$$ and pay the transfer fee - it is all swings and round-abouts in any case, happens to all clubs.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Ok, so we will wait for the SANFL to retrospectively change the rules for a near 20 year ago transaction.

Exactly, The Bays know North want him and will pay the $$$, isnt it just business?

Laird's comments are pretty interesting to say the least, seeing CD actually spoke with him

that's correct dutchy but central wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't talk to every available quality player....the more interesting comment was from mick godden seeing money for the transfer fee was their only problem in obtaining brets signature
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

You are right, I guess Brett ringing asking if the club was interested in his services does constitute 'CD speaking with him' doesn't it?

It's the same "speaking with" that Sturt did.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Reading Roy's comments, I can picture him holding his nose and making a flushing action.
If he plays at all he would be a certainty for the Advertiser Team of the Year.

So I'm guessing you're in the 'Backwell let us down' camp rather than the opposing 'he's a deadset legend who's been shafted by the club' then.

How many hilarious arguments will there be amongst those two sets of Glenelg supporters when he plays against you for the first time?

And North of all the teams...
'People are not stupid. They know when they are being conned. And two reserves teams operating in a League competition will reduce it to a farce, a competition without a soul.'
