According to today's paper Centrals are looking to purchase an extra AFL draftee as their 'recruiting hasn't been very successful'.

Golden Dynasty will be happy. :D

Maybe they want to grab Graham as they need a ruckman.

I wouldn't be overly happy if we bought a pick especially if the player become unavailable come finals.

But we have probably been the most successful with the mini draft with players like Guerra, Griffin, Gunston, Henderson and Williams all secured despite always having late picks.

Previously I'd have preferred to avoid extra AFL listed players, as much as many have been really handy. But I think right now, picking up Angus Graham would be huge for us so I'd do it.

Centrals dominance over the last decade has been built on enough league ready juniors topped off with selective recruiting of players who can turn matches off their own boot. Grant's statement in the paper today effectively runs up the white flag for both.

What would the outcome be if all clubs refused to participate in the SANFL mini draft?

That would be a nail in the coffin to bring in AFL reserves here, most unwise move.

We will be fine, finished the minor round easily in second, apart from the Gowans who struggled last year we have lost nothing from the league side at this stage.

We already have picked up 2 players who should be league regulars.

ALL clubs won't happen.

Even if the 8 independent clubs passed Magpies would draft all the Power listed players which
the Power would probably like.

SANFL has pushed the line that the reserves issues wont be addressed until after both the move to
Adelaide Oval and the sale of the licences and finalised.

I suspect SANFL also wants to see effect of the host club arrangement in the WAFL which partially starts next year
but not in full until 2014.

Given none of these will be underway until the 2014 season I cant see any changes starting until 2015.

That is still 2 full seasons away, so for mine why bring the issue to a head now?

Obviously blocked out the final series then, you're always on about watching old videos maybe check out the games against West and North again.

They can't if banned from the mini draft due to exceeding the salary cap as most are predicting.

We have lost alot more talent than this and then gone on to win the flag, 2002-2003 is a prime example.

Not alot of difference between us and Norwood 2011-2012

Two of the sides above us have lost shitloads more than us

Still ignoring the two humiliations in the finals series I see.

Norwood will be stronger next year than last year. The test for us, as it has been through our 135 year history, will be in backing up after a flag.
