Here's one for ya guys!

Matthew Martin, from a pretty reliable source, has walked out of Westies to go back and play for his junior club in Flagstaff Hill.

Has not taken the delisting from the Power well, and wants to simply enjoy his footy with some mates! No passion left in him! Big waste for mine, but being delisted would be extremely hard to take as a 19 yr old. Hopefully Westies can talk him out of it!

I spell it out for you - do you reckon he is "wrapped" or "rapt" to have Hinge?

so you thought a pic of a guy all beaten up would be relevant?

F: Hunter Chambers Coad

 would be handy especially in dry conditions.

coad is a backman, we'd have either hassan, crane, sheedy or hinge or maybe even a resting ruckman in giles in the other FP...handy ;)

Hopefully not coming over for easy $$$

The mail is that he is extremely interested in the Blues and money is not an issue at all :)

ive got no dramas with a club chasing players and spending $$$ but the Ins v Outs for Sturt at the moment dont seem to add up unless they were well under the cap last year, which I doubt....

Have a look at the list on in the post a couple of pages back. The majority of clubs have more official 'ins' then us.
Plus, we would have room in our cap as alot of our side were quite young last year and not commanding huge amounts. Playing for the 'love of the jumper and all that' ;)

That seems fair, you did have a lot of young players - what is their attitude toward recuriting cash hungry players? If not handled right it could cause some issues...

Yeah come on Dutchy, these bloke have secretly been long life passionate Sturt fans, and have wanted nothing more than to represent the two blues on the hallowed Unley turf. I heard Hassan offered to play for free just so he could proudly where the SFC emblen on his heart.

Not sure 'cash hungry' and 'playing in the SANFL' are things I could see as realistic. More money can be paid to players in some of our country leagues without the massive amounts of training our boys do.
I think this money talk crap is all a bit of fun as there seems to be so many experts on every clubs finances and really, while there is no footy being played, what the hell else are we going to talk about?
If someone turns out to be a recruiting mistake, I have faith in that our coach simply won't pick them and piss them off. That's all I care about.
I'll let the finance co-ordinators sort out the money side of things and spend my time hopefully seeing my team walk the walk in 2010.

Then why is it that new contracts issued at Unley include a street directory with Unley Oval bookmarked?

We all have our own views, obviously Sturt have $ in their cap and they are using it...

What do you think the motivation is behind Hassan, Hinge, Giles and possibly Hunter then?

As I said, I couldn't give a shit what their motivation is, as long as they add to the team. If they don't then my club will have to sort out any mistakes they've made.

Maybe they think that they'll get an honorary Oxford or Cambridge University degree if they play for Sturt? :D
