Quote from article:

The AFL is planning to keep the weekend of April 6-7 vacant at state league level to allow the VFL to face the SANFL in Adelaide, according to the report.

So the AFL controls the VFL fixturing now? Drop the pretence and call it AFL reserves.

AFL controls all footy except in SA and WA.

"Controls" is an interesting take. I'd suggest we're just puppets on the national stage.

Doesn't the SANFL salary cap get set by the AFL?

No SANFL sets up our salary cap

Does it really matter?

Not like you have to book travel and accommodation each week

I'm tipping each team will play each other once at home and once away*.

*some teams will double up at home vs crowserves and some will get shafted and play them on AO.

As mentioned previously the last two have been released in February so anything earlier would be a bonus.
Chill.

Just trying to plan a trip interstate, but won't book it until I know when we play West, can't miss out seeing us win again.
Plus hope we have a bye when LIV is on.

It seriously can't be that hard to release a fixture, the SANFL need to get their act together in a lot things and this is another.

Weggie,
I'm as chilled as Werribee were after announcing Jimmy Allen as coach.

You mean like round 18 this season? You’re only as good as your last game

Some things are not that hard.

When you try to sledge someone might pay to check to see who won the last game between them.

Yep, probably the only exception would have been when Norwood played North at the SCG in 1953. I expect there won't be a repeat of that.

Yep, $10 per game or over $100 for a membership.
Ridiculous! I had a Geelong women's membership this year for $20 that got me into every game!

While the SANFL are choosing not to increase the Men's Salary Cap to Pre-Covid Levels maybe they should keep the admission fees for both SANFL and SANFLW down too?

State League Football must be the only Sport Competition in the World that has not put their salary cap back to pre-covid level?
Have all the SANFL employees that make these decisions had the same forced pay cut since 2020 whilst still having to do the same hours and expected to bring the same product?

No need to panic any longer, South Adelaide have reported the draw is dropping next week.

The South Australia v Victoria football rivalry is set to be reignited with the SANFL to play the VFL in a state league clash for the first time in eight years during 2024 AFL Gather Round

I would be either extremely interested, or not interested whatsoever, in attending this match, depending on whether or not it's a curtain raiser to an AFL match.

... and if it is staged in SA. With the dominant interest being in the Reacher Round it might make better sense to play the state game in Victoria.
