Oh really ???? Surprise surprise only 6 months too late !
Watch out Wingnuts your squareup is coming !

Flippa isn't even playing. And not sure how many times we need to go over this, but Flippa had the blinkers on, didn't see Nutta coming, who laid a fair sheppard. Broken jaw, yes, but these things happen in footy. No free kick was paid, there was no report, so move on. You have since won a flag and will probably canter in for this one. Look forward to the good things, not dwell on the past ;)

A "perfect shepherd" does not break a man's jaw with an elbow and a "perfect shepherd" is not the result of an instruction issued by the coach. No free and no report ... and you are surprised based on the quality of umpires we have ????
Make no mistake there WILL be an even up after which I will shut up for good.

Yes that one 10m off the ball, elbow above his shoulder, eyes off the ball with one intention. I call that pure cowardice.

Like any collision sport there is always going to be accidental contact much like the Lindsay Thomas incident recently.

As has been mentioned 'awareness' isnt one of Phillips greatest strengths (copped a similar style injury at Power training as well)

Like Callinan has said he did mean to hit him hard he saw his chance and he took it, but he didnt intentionally mean to break his jaw.

How was that 10m off the ball, and the elbow wasn't raised until after the bump. If it was the other way around there would be no argument on your part.
Plenty of norwood players have done a lot worse than that over the years. Glass houses come to mind.

Surely if you have played the game you have accidently tackled/bumped an opposition player and made contact where you didnt mean to.

I really hope Norwoods focus is on squaring up with Callinan, if so we are better chance than i have given us credit for.

Im sure there wont be any love lost between a few blokes on the field, but I'd say both clubs would label that as a mutual respect and rivalry.

I haven't heard the Callinan-Phillips incident mentioned since 2010 at the club and everyone Ive ever spoken to just consider it a good hard bump. It will play no part in this game, and I can't really believe it's being discussed again.

I don't support either sides. But if you think nutta's bump was thuggery and dirty, you gotta start watching netball. And get over it, it was 3 years ago

Agree. Any talk of supposed square-ups is just wishful thinking from someone who still refuses to let it go. Doesn't mean I don't want to see our players iron someone out if they get the chance ;)

Great comment as usual JK.
Looking forward to Saturday night's game. 'Legs are favourite, reigning premiers, top of the ladder, and we're not quite gelling for 4 quarters.
Perfect time to turn it around. ;)
