I heard that Bamford isnt going on, and Beinke or Paul Evans are to take over. Have also heard the Eagles have shown interest in Dolling and Mercer.

A few clubs are swooping in on the possibly available players that may leave Port.

I know South Adelaide have shown lots of interest in Beardy, and thrown plenty of cabbage at him.

North got a few last year & are sniffing around again i hear.
Daryl Hart when coaching North was good at that, he did it right infront of them on game day.

Reminds me of when we were in Darwin and Doug Thomas went up to Luke Ivens after the game asking if he knew where Luke Ivens was as he wanted to have a chat with him!

Maybe some of the players can see the writing on the wall and are jumping ship before they become the Power Reserves side

North did ok out of Port with Clinch and Shannon and Kerren Hall was going ok too until work got in the way. Good to see our CEO keeps in touch with his contacts at the Magpies.

It is significantly harder to recruit these days from interstate so you can expect alot more players in the SANFL to switch clubs for a variety of reasons in future.

North have done well out Shannon and Dalwood transferring from Norwood has also been very handy. Not sure Hall was enjoying it too much at North and i think 'work' was a bit of an excuse for him to leave.

Was a time when interstate players lined up to play with the Magpies, bit like Centrals over the last decade.
Personally I miss the Magpies being a force and hope they can return to that status soon.

Dedicated SANFL players at the Magpies who are out of contract or are sick of playing second fiddle at One Club Port, are having their heads turned and who could blame them when clubs come calling that are focused on one goal, a SANFL flag!
30 years on Port Magpies have become Woodville in disguise
I wouldn't be suprised if this years lot of Power players in the SANFL mini draft are all allocated straight to the Magpies as part of the restructure coming soon.

Sounds like an SANFL trade week might be needed. Get all 9 clubs together and swap away.

Trade week not needed, because there will only be eight teams soon, just send your recruitment managers down to Alberton and pick and choose, I would go for a couple of talls currently in the Magpies seconds side that haven't learned how to lose and train them to a winning formula before it's too late.

Cheers,

Bamford gone but Gotch has apparently joined Carr & Hocking in rejecting the job.

Collins & Bassett yet to announce their plans for next year.

Status quo looks most likely for other clubs but Eagles, South, Sturt & Bays would not want a repeat of their seasons this year or their coaches would be under the pump.

Collo should be under the pump with Mickan already at the club.
The Eagles, Bays, South and Centrals all had poor years and slipped back!
That won't happen again, so I say West are dreaming if they think they will have as easy a time of it next year finishing 2nd.
How could they seriously ignore Mickan?
