Well done to the Eagles today, thought Central were going to pinch it back in the last few minutes but not this time around! 8)

You're right, though, he's a great bloke, totally respected at Westies and wherever he goes.

Congratulations to him and the Eagles.

Great win by the Eagles today - worked the tempo and set the game up with those two early goals.
Felt that our lack of height hurt us today. So many one on one marking contests featured an Eagles player taller than ours.
Parry was sensational.
Boyd was brilliant. Worked hard all day.
We battled hard at the end but couldn't qute get there - a few wayward kicks will be rued.
Umpiring was fine too.

On a personal note, well done to Scott Lewis. Great game today and congrats on your third shot at the SANFL gaining some reward.
Also congrats to Jarrad Jackson, one of the assistants at the Eagles and a bloody good bloke.

Great game, always felt Centrals were going to come hard at some stage (still haunted by some recent 2nd Semi's after being 4 goals up) and of course they did, Roy did his usual trick of chucking a couple of players forward of the play.

Eagles were brilliant early, matching and even beating Centrals at their own game.

Amazing effort by the Eagles, and great to see smiles on many of my mates faces, all of them come from the pre-merger days when they couldnt win a thing.

Was an massive crowd support for the Eagles which really surprised me, crowd was 50/50 IMO, well done to the Eagles for turning up in big numbers.

Will Central now rue the decision to forgo participation in the Foxtel Cup, a competition which it would surely have won? Chose to focus on one cup over the other, and ended up with none.

As reigning premier will the Eagles now accept any invitation to next year's Foxtel Cup, or have they no ambitions to snag the double?

Toumpas may not go yet. Hes only eligible for the GWS mini draft this year.

He is a gun, he showed unbelievable poise today!!!

GSW are all over him, fact.

Without a doubt. If he was 2 days older he'd be eligible for this years draft and would no doubt go in the top 4-5 picks. Just not 100% certain GWS will want to give up the rights to him for the mini draft this year and try to keep him for next year.

I'd back that none of the top three clubs will play in that comp. Next year.

Gutted...absolutely gutted...well done Eagles, the better side for the majority of the match...party hard!

As for the match, Eagles got the jump on us and it was catch up for the rest of the match. I was worried for good reason going into the finals as I felt the Eagles matched up better against us than Norwood.

As for the Dogs, we'll lick our wounds and come back bigger and better next year. The reign as premiers is over but the dynasty isn't over yet!

His reason is to be a trolling douche? :D

Admittedly, I think it's been a good response from the Centrals supporters on here so far, though that man Centurion hasn't reared his head, and he's the one I normally make my Centrals generalisations on... ;)

FWIW, watching the game, when WWT went forward, they seemed to have marking forward line targets who (Grocke aside) kicked truly, whereas the Dogs relied on crumbers running forward into open goals/across the body snaps.

That kid with all the dreadys (WWT bloke) was awesome late, and I thought Callinan was not as good as he should have been (although he's had injuries this year).

I view winning the Foxtel Cup as being on the same level as winning a meat tray in a pub raffle...good to win but there's way bigger things to win.

I've previously said the league was becoming boring because of the failure of 8 sides to compete with Central... today's game was excellent entertainment. No doubt. It was a good result for the league because someone else won, however it doesn't remove the problem of predictability altogether.

That said... I'm well pleased with the result. Shows how hard five in a row is to get...
