JAS and Adelaide Hawk are good sports, and will just take it on the chins.

whufc, are you one of the types who clap and cheer and make stupid comments when an opposition player gets injured?

Sure, injuries happen, its a part of the game, but there is a reason why even opposition supporters clap the stretcher off.

Some of you wouldn't have last too long at games in the 70's and 80's with some of the stuff that was "sung" by the cheer squads when an opposition player went down injured or for that matter players from your own team! "Bring on the meat wagon" was a standard classic!

Geez give whufc a break - I think his comments were taken out of context and knowing the bloke he is definately not how many are portraying him?

How can you take this sort of post out of context?

that was a tongue in cheek, angry, still half pissed reply to the people who were calling Callinan a sniper and saying that he should be texting an apology to Phillips. In highsight not a very good post.

i have never clapped an injured player in my life BUT unlike a few precious people i dont find 99% of injuries on the football/sporting field tragedies.

whether it be football/boxing/car racing etc etc if you are prepared to play the sport you need to be aware that injuries may occur whether your own fault or anothers.

I can tell you from long experience, WHUFC, that many football injuries are tragedies for the injured player concerned.

They can change their lives, let alone their current situation and the fact they know there is a risk of injury if they play is irrelevant.

I'm glad you've accepted your original post was unacceptable.

I hope Simon Phillips makes a quick recovery. A broken jaw is a nasty injury and a recurrence would be a big setback for him, especially at this stage of his football career.

they are but they cant be unexpected when you play the game, you have to accept this may happen.

When i was working at the Starplex in Gawler Ben Walton was a personal trainer there. He had a very sickening injury on the field when he was accidently knocked unconscious by a young Adam Cooney, it took Ben ages to get over the injury and he really suffered as a player. I think that was the day he really lost his passion for football depsite trying for a few years later including at North.

Then came a day he decided he wasnt prepared to put himself in a position where injuries are so regular and common and has concerntrated on his business life ever since and is thriving.

I think some people get a bit carried away when it comes to there 'favourite' players. Being raped, murdered, bashed is a tragedy getting injured on a sporting field imho is not (in 99% of occasions)

WHUFC has wished SImon Phillips nothing but a speedy recovery ever since the GF.

The tenuios quote from 5 months ago posted. Is more WHUFC defending Callinan re: the numerous sniper accusations being made at the time by the crying Norwood fans IMHO.

Tragedy - A disastrous event, especially one involving distressing loss or injury to life.

Simon Phillips injury was unfortunate, but hardly a tragedy. Being slighty over the top there redandblack.
