If port dont allow Season Tickets and kidds in for free then its a disgrace and the fans of NFC and SFC and any other club in the future playing a curtain raiser should be entitled to some compensation on their season tickets

Port are doing this to make more $ no doubt, so if they get less than 30k to the double headers they will be considered failures. Personally I cant see them getting many more than their usual average. The first game of the might have a chance being the season opener but the Sturt game in June starting at 11.15am?
Are Port trying to get Sturt/Norwood fans to the game to try and convert them to the AFL animal?
Seriously this mob are a bunch of amateurs, put something into place and they still don't know how its going to work.
You would think they would have discussed this with all parties before making it official in the draw, absolute clueless at best

Why assume its Ports decision? Surely this will be an SANFL decision how they structure pricing for these two matches.
Hopefully, season ticket holders just need to show their ticket at the ticket booth then get given a free ticket for the match. Makes sense to me.

I think that they are trying to convert those Port Magpies fans that are non Powder Puff fans.

fish wrote:Regarding the two curtain raisers the second one - Magpies v Sturt followed by Power v Carlton makes sense, as I suspect that more than a few Sturt fans also follow Carlton.
The first one - Magpies v Norwood as a curtain raiser for Port v West Coast doesn't make much sense, it should have been Magpies v Eagles or Power v Melbourne. Or combine Glenelg with Richmond or Centrals & Western Bulldogs or Westies and Essendon.
As a supporter who follows SANFL and AFL keenly, a curtain raiser is a rather attractive idea and I'd be more likely to go to the double game than either of the single ones.

Yep I reckon you're right - given the Platten link for us old-timers and the Clarkson link for the newbies.daysofourlives wrote:fish wrote:Regarding the two curtain raisers the second one - Magpies v Sturt followed by Power v Carlton makes sense, as I suspect that more than a few Sturt fans also follow Carlton.

Wouldnt there be a large protion of centrals / hawthorn supporters? So a magpies / centrals game before a port / hawthorn game would make sense
