One man who certainly hopes so - and is questioning some of his own fans loyalty - makes some interesting points below:\

I think the fixturing plays some part in crowd numbers - if the Dogs had a couple more night games, their numbers may have been up?

Will be interesting to see if indeed the Dogs do get more support this year, especially considering the amount of retirements they have had and the general concensus that they will fall back to the pack.

I think the whole thing is a bit over-rated.

Play 5 night games like we did in 2009 rather than the one in 2010 and obviously crowd averages will increase.

A more interesting comparison would be to compare the day game attendances from 2009 to 2010. That would give you a better comparison.

only 1 night game in 2010 definitely means We had a drop of about 8,000, compared to 2009, which isn't much overall. but it doesn't help.
