Ahhh well I spose it will be a straight swap for Luke Jericho

No chance of it being a straight swap,

Trotter is a hard at it, ball winning speedy midfielder with plenty of heart and toughness

Jericho is a show pony, wide recieveing forward with plenty of potential but pulls his heartlidge way to often.

Didnt say he was a "gun" recruit did I sniper, sorry I mean G. Casey are the Melbourne reserves team and did finish behind some good players such as Brad Miller, Kyle Cheney,Matthew Warnock and Paul Johnson all of which would be handy players in SANFL

Jericho is a good player just needs a decent coach to bring out the best of him. Think Bass might get that little bit extra out of him that frustrates supporters. Trotts is big loss, good ball winner but just seemed bit more injury-prone this year.

Apologies Brodlach as I know the word "gun" wasnt used but in my opinion thats what Westies need is a few recruits that fit that description, not a few more nickle and dime type of players that you have plenty of.

By the way how does my post represent "sniping" ???

Phillips to the Power. Obviously good for Norwood, as the Power will pay for him. It will be interesting to see how many games he plays.

Phillips to the Power.

I guess the softer league probably will suit him.

The Power gave up a fair bit for him (in my opinion). I know he made the Advertiser team of they year for what it's worth, but to Norwood supporters, is he really that good?
Perhaps he saved his worse game (or at least three quarters) for the GF?
From the little I've seen of Norwood, I thought Puopolo and Lower are more effective?

Ok reason i dont think Phillips will make it in the AFL.

-Isnt consistent enough, tends to drift in and out of games. Yet to see him play a really good 4 quarters, but has played brilliant halves.

-Biggest and only real assett in the SANFL was his speed, he will be back in the pack when it comes to pace in the AFL so cant see what he is really going to add to the side.

-His defensive work, AWARENESS and overhead ability are average at best.

This might be a bit harsh on Flipper, but I can't recall a game he had as little impact in all season as the Grand Final .. As I said elsewhere, this was in part due to his opponent being (imho) a superstar at our level, and also to Flip's ball handling being below his best.

I think if you were looking for 1 player that could have put the game in our favour from a 50/50 position, he probably did it 5 or 6 times this year, however he didn't put in many 4 quarter displays highlighting an issue of consistency, something he would need to address at the higher level.

I think he's probably more replaceable to Norwood than Puopolo and Lower, but there's no doubt the more he misses for Norwood, the bigger the hole he leaves behind.

Agree as a supporter off the opposition i always felt he was 'possibly' there was most dangerous player whether that was kicking goals up forward or breaking the lines in the midfield.

Flipper must have had a few clubs hanging around him and wanting his services otherwise Port would have waited until the draft and picked him up with their last pick.

So I would say it was a strategic move by Port to obtain his services before someone cut their lunch

Or they thought just the GC would get him before anyone else got a pick.

If GC wanted him they would have kept him and not on traded him to Port

Or GC thought he wasn't "worth" what Port were prepared to trade for him.

They've hardly given up anything have they? They've essentially got him for the difference between their 2nd round compensation pick (for Krakouer) and pick 35 which they also got from Gold Coast, which isn't a massive gap.
