Didn't know Glenelg were in trouble?

Been a few years since you were the biggest drawcard, yet it is still repeated constantly.

Evidence?
In another thread, the lowest Alberton crowd since about 1943 was when Glenelg came in about 2003.

Spelly can confirm but the club with the highest average attendance in 2008 - 2009 is Glenelg. Aveage home game in 2008 was over 5000 (thanks to that Sturt game) in 2009 - 4000+ IIRC.

That is what the Royal City is referring too.

Spelly over to you...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Evidence? How about the official attendance figures for the last 2 seasons.

Not difficult to find.

So post them then.

I had a look and couldn't find them.

I'm not arguing with you, I just asked for evidence. Forgive me for being dubious, but taking a random forum posters words as gospel isn't a sound source of info.

So feel free to post your source as evidence and we'll all be on the same page.

No-one is arguing with you that Port had the highest drawing power in past years, what we are saying is those days are gone.

Torrens had huge support in the 50's and 60's. That didn't save them in 1990.

Cheers for posting RC.
Glenelg's home crowds are great, but away, not so.

From that thread, OTR was in fine form:

on the rails wrote:Dear oh Dear this topic is going to upset some of the precious Bay fans who believe they get great numbers at away games!

Problem for Glenelg fans is that their home game crowds on Sundays always draw a heap of neutrals and fair weather supposed bay fans. This includes quite a few friends and collegues of mine who support the bays because they live in the area, but they are not members, only go to home games at the bay on a sunday providing it is sunny and because the bays are going well. It has only been since mid 2005 -2006 onwards that many of them actually started going to Glenelg games for the first time! Also since Glenelg have been back up near the top from 2006 - some of their old suppoorters who abandoned them for the Crows have started to drift back too but at least I suppose they are real supporters?

This flatters their home ground figures and gives the impression they are better supported than they really are IMO and the stats via this topic tend to support that.

I believe they haven't paid players for the 2009 season, and have already been paid their 2010 dividend, has anyone else heard this story?

Advertiser's Port Adelaide whinge brigade mobilised once again.

It is staggering how easily led these people are.

I understand the SANFLs position but its still dissapointing, especially after looking like the Pies were on the right track.
