I was asking Doggies fans to make a case out for why Norwood could win the game. Any thoughts?

Norwood have good on-ballers and a strong defence. Our forwards did nothing against Sturt's defence last week, and a few looked a bit sore.
Norwood are more settled than Centrals, at the moment.
They know as a playing group, they can beat Central.
They as do Centrals, want to ensure the double chance.
They match up well and have some players with good leg speed.
Finally, I've found out about five people at work barrack for Norwood, so just to annoy me.

And when you say "3 years", you mean exactly 3 years; the three year anniversary of 30 June 2007 having passed a couple of weeks ago. (We don't match up quite so flash if you include that one.)

I see this as a 50/50 game. I will be happy if we win as it will almost assure us of a top 3 finish.

The problems we must overcome are: 1. it looks like we have lost our No 2 ruckman so will have to use a key position player as a back-up ruckman.
2. We often drop games mid-season as the focus will be on peaking in Sept/Oct at the expense of July.
3. A few of our better players are coming back from or carrying injuries so they will be below par.
4. Our apparently great attack has been weakened by Havelberg's injury, the possibility that Schell is not 100% fit, and Westhoff's and Henderson's promotions.

OK squawk?

I was going from memory but when I look at the records the last thumping win we had over Norwood was 12 April 2008 by 71 pts and the previous game on1 September 2007 by 51 pts.

Or were you referring to 30 June 2007 -158 points. :D

Thanks for the query it allowed a lovely walk down memory lane. Ah those were the days

Goodrem and Havelberg back in gives us a much more balanced and flexible look. Just hope Havelberg sees the game out. Such a shame for him the last couple of years have been wrecked by injury when he should be getting his name discussed by AFL recruiters.

I think the train line might be closed atm Apostle - but I think there should be a good turn out.
I noticed CDFC had car parking arrangements for Bays fans going to that recent game - was this a one-off or something that occurs for all matches at the Ponderosa now?

You have to catch the express bus from Adelaide train station and get off at Mawson Lakes and then you catch the train from there.

The one on the clubroom side is normally full 15 minutes prior to the start of the game. I didn't notice the school one being full. However, from memory with the school park you have to be out by 5:30 (I think). Obviously will depend on crowd numbers though.
Just noticed both car parks close about one hour after the end of the league game.

A big match for the Dogs - the boys would certainly be looking to reassert some authority on the competition (avoiding second straight loss) and Norwood (avoiding second straight loss to the Legs).

With the size of the Ponderosa, I always watch with interest when a premiership contender comes out that way as if it comes down to the GF match up, it's a similar size oval. This interest is further highlighted by the fact the Legs play on such a significantly smaller oval.

I think this Norwood can play on a big oval.

Thinking about heading home straight after my game tomorrow to watch this one on the teev.

DW - Norwood actually has a little bit of a streak going against the Dogs, albeit all wins were at Norwood Oval.

Rd 23 2009
Nwd...12-15-87
Dogs..11-15-81

Trial Game 13/3/10
Norwood 20.16 (136)
Central 10.13 (73)

Trials mean little but I put this up because Shenton has been named in Norwood's squad of 23 for Rd 17 and in this game he kicked 4.3.

Rd 11 2010
Nwd…9-15-69
CD…..9-12-66

I have a feeling that last time Norwood played at Elizabeth the Dogs came back from a fair half time deficit (5-6 goals) to win by about 3 goals.
