It looks like us Riverlanders have another footballer whose career we'll watch with strong interest.
Good luck fella.

Just to clarify DW - Scott is from Ceduna.

He knows that. I'd say he was referring to the fact that he and Corey (who was from the Riverland) were such good mates and is going to give his all for Corey, means that all Riverlanders will be taking an interest in his career from now on.

So what happens when you help kill a young bloke whilst driving like a dickhead?

You get a $400 bond, and lose your license for 16 months

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/no-jail-for-coreys-killer/story-e6frea83-1226042087318

What a ******* joke....

Really feel sorry for Coreys family that their son has been taken and then to watch the accused walk free with nothing but a slap on the wrist.

And the Government is clamping down on hoon driving....yeah right.

He wasn't the one who hit Corey, what a ridiculous link name news limited gave that story!
Even the prosecutor said that under our law he couldn't be charged with Coreys death.
There was quite obviously only 1 decision he court could give for this case.

The person who hit and killed Corey hasn't been sentenced yet.

It's true. While it was accepted he was a contributing factor, the blame can't fall solely on his shoulders.
I'm not sure of the ins and outs of the law with this but the judge did seem to believe (going on his comments) that it was a light punishment.

"Driving at a high speed in an unregulated environment on a suburban road can be exciting, can create a feeling of power, an adrenalin rush, but it also kills and cripples participants in the activities and unforgivably those who do no wrong at all but find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"Why should we give credit for the equivalent of putting down the gun after the bullet was on its way?"

I don't agree with the sentence but I didn't expect him to get dealt with too harshly anyway based on similar cases in the past.

If he didn't race this other piece of shit then this wouldn't of happened. Carl Williams got done for murder and he didn't pull the trigger! This legal system is a joke. You get in more trouble at school

Factor in this was that the DPP reduced the charges back to a lesser charge, happens way to much for my liking to get a guilty plea, we all know tragically that a young life was taken in this instance and many other instances but unless we are there we never really know what occurred. The Police do their upmost to bring the alleged offenders to justice but sometimes (not in all cases) there is just one element of evidence missing to sustain the more serious charge, perhaps that was the case this time. I can tell you from first hand experience not only the victims families suffer in these cases but so do the investigating Police. Unfortunately we will see more of this and more innocent lives lost.

Know it doesnt make anyone feel better, the family or the people from the WAFC but thats more than likely what has occurred on thisd occasion.

Tho not much of a fair penalty at least he was fined and his liscence suspended it is more than that mongrel lawyer Magee received for killing a cyclist then doing a runner.

I'd think having to live with it would be karma enough.

What is justice in these kind of cases? It's just retribution, jailing people will never stop it from happening again, it'll never put old heads on young shoulders, it wont make idiots smarter.

Wedgie has a point. Wait and see what happens to the bloke who actually drove the car that killed the young bloke.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
