Centrals unashamedly play a defensive game - keep the opposition to no more than 10 or 11 goals and then worry about kicking more than that. It isn't too often that we kick sides off the park.

westies are going to struggle without a ruckman & if they continue the ultra flood we saw today they'll struggle to kick a winning score

Well, the only time I can recall any cheap shots from the boys was when they belted Schubert, as payback. here we go again.

read it properly

the "here we go again" was in reference to me raising that thrashed out topic again. ;)

A bit like the aftermath to last Sunday's game then?

Well If Dogs got twice as many free kicks as West Like Norwood were gifted last week then fair enough I guess. Without looking at the stats ill doubt youll see any team majorly favoured from yesterdays game with free kicks. Unlike the week before.

Well done to Westies the new work done around the bar in the northern end looks fantastic.
If only you could open up more than one gate at your games.

My favourite part of the game was in the last five minutes when we had West fans trying to convince Centrals supporters their team has won 11 flags not 8.

Oh West fans sometimes you make to easy. I wonder why they wouldnt take a wager on it ???? :-)

Frees were 20-19 in favor of Centrals according to the Sunday Mail. Countless frees for Schell were missed in the first quarter.

If West Adelaide fans need to verify how many flags they've won, they only need to look at the stairs going to the stand, where the premiership years are painted.

It seems now that its the Central supporters that are most concerned with the umpiring. What is with this obsession with Schell not receiving frees? He got 2 awarded to him (from which he scored). So how about giving credit where credit is due, and acknowledge the performance of Silvester who beat him on the day.

If all West Adelaide can do is behind the play and in play cheapshots (instead of attacking, scoring footy) then the revival at Richmond Oval has well and truely run it's course.

Not us that's for sure. Can't remember the last time we had a guy reported. I'm thinking maybe Sturt or North.

Watch the stats come out now to dispel my theory.

In 2009, Port and West had the most players suspended with 5 each. Over the last 5 years, Port have had the most with 14, followed by North with 11; Norwood have had the least with 2, Glenelg next best with 5.

Did Hartlett end up getting reported for the late elbow on Switala?

Fair enough. Can't say I saw that incident but I'll definitely have a look on the replay.

I was thinking of the late hit by Willits beneath the barbeque that surprisingly wasn't even given as a free kick.

whufc is correct...

It was an errant whack on the back of the head from Adam Hartlett that saw Adam Switala come off with the blood rule...

He wasn'rt reported at the time for the incident by the umpire nearest the play but I was sitting up near the umpires panel in the greandstand and they made mention to me that this specific incident was going to be very closely looked at.

The Willits incident bloods08 is referring to is the incident where there was a clash between him and Central's Kyle Jenner and Willits copped him with a high one right in front of the umpire, Gary Fila, who waved play on afterward.

Wouldn't be surprised if that one is looked as well during the match review process...

An interesting sideline to the point above is that Norwood had two reports (both found guilty) in the first two weeks of this season. Admittedly the second report was the coach, Nathan Bassett.
Baggy, do you have figures on how many players from each club have been reported and found guilty but given a fine or reprimand rather than a suspension?
Cheers

Adam Hartlett from West Adelaide has been cited by the tribunal for his reckless 'whack' to the back of Adam Switala's head from the weekends game. His hearing will be tomorrow night...
