The fact is we are very selective in our recruiting and get players who want to play for the club.

Players who are mainly motivated by $s end up playing elsewhere.

I don't think it would. Butcher, Grima numerous others didn't "shut up" the mis-informed perceptions, nor would this.

*sigh*

Why is it that if a club missed out on a player it is always going to be cause of money??

I think you'll find very little difference between what Todd actually gets paid at Glenelg and what he would've got at CDFC for playing footy. Difference is in what the employment we arranged remunerates him and onging career prospects in real estate compared to what the CDFC had arranged.

No argument with me on what you've said there "am". Yes no doubt his real estate arrangement would reward him quite well.

Well, that and the bonus of the scenery being of a higher calibre at Glenelg.... ;)

I'm pretty sure recruits nowadays don't have to live within a certain distance of their club. ;)

So what's your point am bays?

I am saying that it would appear that the doggies are not throwing big wads of money at players.

Are you saying that they are but other clubs are able to offer inducements outside of the cap which the dogs cannot?

i think AM BAys was just pointing out the situation with Todd specifically which may not be the same in other cases.

I am sure that very case has degree of uniquness about it but looking at the trnd over the past few years there have been a few players now that have talked to the dogs but ended up with other teams. That is my point - the dogs can't be throwing big money at players.
