Should be a really good game.
It will be Sturts's first grand final since 2002.
Lots to play for for both sides.

Will Sturts have Chambers playing for them? A big question.

I see what you're trying to do DW ;)

Can't wait for this game, seems to be a good change in the weather also. Thinking back on the prelim, if Glenelg had've kicked straight we may've been blown away early, most of their easy misses were from set shots which means that we can't say that it was OUR pressure that made them miss. However it doesn't take away from one of the most important attributes in football and that is determination and belief. Just getting my voice back.

You do know official Central District Football Club merchandise has "CENTRALS" on it where no official Sturt merchandise has "STURTS" on it?
As is the term "Centrals" used approximately 10 times on the history page of the club's official website when no plural or ownership is implied.

Think the Dogs will get over the line, hope so anyway...7 or 8 flags, who cares, all blends into one....if Sturt win

My son has been lucky enough to be selected as an auskicker to present a premiership medal, at least he is pumped about Sunday...

I am aware of that.
Our informal name is Centrals.
Just like Glenelg are the Bays.
Our formal name is Central District.
And not Central Districts.
Adding an S to Central District is like adding an S to Sturt, Glenelg or North Adelaide (as examples).
Or, it would be like calling St Kilda, Saint Kilda.
Yes, it is a bit unusual but that's the club's official name.
As for the heading of this thread it is correct, we are Centrals.

Cool, glad we cleared that up, my post although directly relating to yours was probably more aimed at Dunc's (or is that Duncs's?) post earlier in the topic who complained about others calling them "Centrals" which always amazes me with it being a term used officially by their own club.
I think only Max Basheer should be able to call the Dogs Central Districts, well actually more like Cennal Districts. ;)
Terms like Sturts, Glenelgs and North Adelaides were used in a lot of older stuff Ive read. Such as "Good old Norwoods" but agree it is outdated.
Sorry for the slight pause in Grand Final Week celebrations, carry on and enjoy ..... :D
Im hoping the Dogs win, that way I wont have to bother taking any photos and will just republish last years. ;)

There is the possibility that Sturt played their grand final last week and if that's the case, it will be evident early. However, I'm more inclined to think they will be confident that they match up pretty well with the Dogs. I'm expecting a cracker. Have been to both finals with my wife, who doesn't like close games. I think we're in for another one.

Identical vibe around Unley as in 2002.

Quiet confidence that we can do the the job and bring home Flag 14 to its most beloved resting place at the corner of Cambridge & Oxford Streets.

Central should be used in the official capacity eg. this topic's heading.
2009 Grand final - Central Vs Sturt.

general conversation can go either way. e.g. Centrals Vs Sturt is perfectly acceptable.

So there :p

If Sturt win they become the 1st side since 1976 to win the premiership after losing the Qualifying Final the same year. Which happened to be Sturt.

Spelly to confirm?
