yes a 50 was paid, it was late & it was crude, i'd suggest he'll get 1 at most but if it was an afl game he'd get 4....this 'incident' actually fired central up a bit & they nearly pinched it...as for norwood why has it taken until the last minor round game to show heart & character because evey time central got close norwood answered where as in the past they would have crumbled....vlatko's mark was the best contested mark i've ever seen HIM take
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Pretty ordinary standard of game today. Dogs just not quite on top of the skills early and had trouble moving the ball around with the limited spaces of the ground. Really should have gotten over the top of them in the end, but Norwood were able to make our forward 50 so congested we couldn't find anyone in a decent spot to get a shot on goal. Not terribly impressed with Norwood, they just look like they lack depth. But we do have next week to look forward to now, and we really need to focus on the fact we beat Sturt last time we played and we have some firepower to come back into the side with Havelberg, Gowans, Griffin and Slade all on the outer. When and if those guys come back they'll give us a real lift.

Thought Nason looked ok. Nice goal to make up for his overzealous downfield free which really changed the game at that stage. Definitely needs a real haircut. Looks like one of those goons from the Maxtrix!

Walker really looks like his interest level changes during the games with Norwood. He looked totally uninterested early, then went onto the ball and got caught. Seemed to fire him up a bit, but Norwood need him to fire far too much for their liking, surely. Vlatko is a decent player and Rowe isn't too bad but I can't see them getting the job done as the focal points too often. Legs need to find a forward or next season might not be any better than this one was.

Despite not playing very well and losing the only great disappointment was Hayes' report. It looked ugly even before he made contact with the Norwood player. Hard to predict what the outcome of the hearing will be, but there will be a guilty plea IMHO as it was clearly a charge. Very late, hit very hard. Real shame with our big man depth being tested that our third tall defender will (IMHO) miss the next game, perhaps two. Especially when any cover from the reserves in the form of Havelberg would have gone forward ideally and may not come up for next week. Just not the sort of discipline we are used to seeing from the Centrals' boys, especially with finals in the air.

Constance_Perm wrote:Not going to be an easy game next week for either team (and I reckon should be a beauty for neutrals), but I reckon the Dogs will react to their poor form today so your boys would need to be on song.

If Sturt are on song and Centrals don't match it, Sturt will win by 10 goals.

If Central are on song and Sturt don't match it, Central will win by 5-6 goals.

Neither side is any better or more of a favourite than the other, its a 50-50 prospect and anything less than their best will see the side duly punished. Both sides should be going into the game confident IMNSHO.

thought it was a ripper game myself, just a shame Centrals couldn't keep pace with the seventh best team in the comp.

Good luck next week though. :-j

The Apostle AK wrote:I can't believe the amount of disrespect shown to Centrals in this thread   ...one shocker and everyones writing them off (Sturt and Norwood don't have shockers do they?)...you would of thought after the last 10 years that ppl on here would have shown Centrals more respect [-X...

The real football starts next weekend...

...and Norwood (after being predicted by a lot of punters at the start of this season to be a top 3 contender) won't be there...

Yeah but what makes me laugh is Centrals beat Sturt by a couple of goals and all of a sudden people think Sturt are mentally weak, in trouble, have question marks over them. Central get beat by a team that has performed poorly this season and for some reason those same criticisms aren't aired. Give me a break...

FWIW I don't think this game means sh*t and the loss by Sturt last week only proved the Dogs were slightly better on the day. Turn up half arsed next week and you're going down... that's for both Sturt and Central. Neither side can afford to take the other for granted, four quarters of solid football is going to be required to win.

Everyone knows the Dogs are top notch and will need a fair effort to beat...

... but I think its only fair to acknowledge Sturt are lethal if you let them do as they please.
