The gods can be fickle in April May and June but not in September and are usually reliable in October

Just reading through the preview thread and I notice that UK Fan and yourself are having a bit of a brouhaha.
You are unsure as to why UKF has an issue with you and would like to know so you can understand what his deal is.

I would suggest that your posts lack a certain amount of brevity (which is not a positive in the media). In attempting to post everything you know on a subject and covering every possible base, you come across as big noting yourself (hence his nickname for you). You also seem to throw in a lot of names when you post, which to some may appear to be name dropping. You also present your opinion as fact, when sometimes it may not be.

Reading between the lines, this is what I would suggest UKF's issues with you are. UKF hasn't confirmed this with me and, of course, I'm not saying that this is what I think, just relaying what I've read into his posts to you.

Now that I've been able to identify why he calls you Big Note, I'm curious, what do you mean when you call him UKFW?

I thought you'd know better being a moderator DW, but wouldn't that type of post would have been better sent in a PM ?

Yes, it was clear that UK Fan and I had our misunderstandings, but appropriately, via PM's we have agreed to disagree and in my eyes, this will be the end of it.

As for calling UK Fan UKFW, I didn't realise I had done it, perhaps because when you quote someone, it comes up with "Joe Bloggs wrote".... so maybe that is where the W came in ?

Can we keep the posts to points relevant to the South v Central game.

They dont come easily those apologies. I can assure you.

You didnt mean the "W" it was an accident. Just remember that excuse BN.

And I called you Big Dill because:

1. Dill rhymes with Phil
2. You have tipped against the dogs many times this year yet you are a doggies supporter (my definition of a dill.
3. You were complaining about UK Fan making fun of your ID when it is a time-hounoured tradition on this site which I though I could demonstarte.
4. I found it amusing (you will note that many posters on this site have a similar purile sense of humour).

Yeah, no worries doggies4eva, but I will to take you to task on 1 thing...

I have tipped against Centrals twice this season and that was against Sturt at Unley and North at Elizabeth.

I know people enjoy taking the mickey out of each other on here in a light hearted manner, but there was a little more to it than that with myself and UK Fan.

Anyway, like I said before, let's move on from it now and stick to discussion about the game itself...

It was interesting interviewing Clay Sampson after the game, he said something that makes me think he is the right man for job.

He was annoyed that his side was clapped off the ground after the game despite losing by 3 goals. He emphasised that that sort of thing will not be tolerated and the obvious way to avoid it is to start winning games.

That is a pretty obvious statement I know but it was as strong a sign as ever that put simply, mediocrity will no longer be accepted at Noarlunga which to me, says he has them on the right track.

Hmm seem to remember more tips against the doggies than that Phil - didn't you tip the bays to beat us? You have too many posts for me to check.

Anyway, about Sampson's statement that a close win is not good enough. Any coach worth his salt has to say that. He will be judged by whether he can get his players to develop a winning mentality. I think that the south supporters were just relieved that we didn't kick south off the park and that they didn't drop their head. I can even remember doggies supporters being of that ilk back in the dark ages.

Iám with ya Big Phil, Clay is taking the right path and has full club support with a list of kids that have talent and can play at this level. However time and retention are the key issues. Time to further develop and retention of current playing list.

Can't find your tip for round one or the Anzac day game on here, BP but you definitely also tipped North round 2 at Prospect.

Not that I actually care whether a dogs fan tips against the dogs or not. I actually get frustrated when our own fans don't understand we cana ctually be beaten by a good side or just play poorly from time to time without the most logical explanation being the umpires!

I agree, the air's been cleared, how about we just move on with normal discussion involving footy and not other posters?

Thanks guys, but can I now request the mods lock this thread as it has run it's race and enough has clearly been said on the matter...

If people want to get stuck into me anymore, I'd suggest they start a thread allocated to that specifically, but I would hope it wouldn't last too long anyway ;)

South appear to be on the right track at the moment

Hopefully the club and its supporters can keeped focus on becoming more competative for longer and at a higher standard. They have started to play competative football, hard and skillful. However at the moment they can probably only do it for 75 minutes of the 120 of a game. This is a lot better than where they were and with time if they stay focused they can greatly improve this.

Centrals went through this process in the early 90's and by the mid 90's they reaped the reward by making grand finals and still remained focused until they started to win them.

Hard work is where successful eras come from, it is not that you are blessed with a good crop of talent, more that everyone starts working towards a common goal to the best of their ability.

South are coming from a long way back.

I was sitting at this game and going well if South are the worst club in the SANFL then the SANFL is stepping up in standard again.

I think Clay Sampson will be South Adelaides Alan Stewart. He just needs to be at the helm for a few more years.
