In sport you can't replace quality and both them guys would be at SANFL level.

Can't really give an answer to that one because it depends on the situation ...

It was reported at the start of the week that Birdman was mentally and physically ready to play SANFL this weekend, whether it be league or reserves...

After some pretty intense training sessions so far this week, John Reid said on 5AA tonight, Brett has just pulled up a little sore in a couple of places. No issues with the knee or any other major joints, just "general soreness".

Reidy did reiterate that the medicos advised Brett is actually 4 weeks ahead of where he should be because of his elite fitness level. So the mindset was it's not that much of an issue if he comes back 3 weeks ahead of schedule as opposed to 4 weeks.

Just a final word on the Salopek situation, at least Choco won't be around to invade the quarter time huddles to talk to his players this week ;)

Can see the eagles being smashed on ball with that line up announced. I think we look thin. As I've mentioned previously, unless we have our best 21 on the park (or close to it) we will struggle. Am not confident about the result but if we do go down, I hope we are super competitive, unlike the Norwood debacle!

Yes , but this game sets up quite similar to our last game against the Bays . With the same committed approach , the Eagles are very capable of the same result . The underdog status really suits us this year , why , maybe the players feel a bit more freed up to attack an opponant the coaches really rate ? Fuller can make a huge statement on Sunday by having the players primed for the contest and being quick to make the counter moves against Mickan even before the games trend is set . Fantastic challenge at the critical stage of the season , cant wait ! Also its a true test of the Eagles depth without the AFL distractions playing .

That is what everyone thought in round 3 not sure if it will happen this week .BUT we have a footballer who can play FF and he was taking speckys including a one handed hanger last week in the two's .That is something the team did not have against Norwood .And I liked last weeks forward line which worked all be it mainly in the first quarter all those talls posed a few headaches for defenders .
Interesting reading Duane Schultz's column on how Ron got the guys to use their voices ,I hope they continue to use them.

Come on Eagles fans lets all get along to FORTRESS WOODVILLE sunday cheer on the guys .

Hopefully the Bays will improve on their previous first quarter at Woodville. 2-9 i believe was our quarter time score, game should've been nearly over. For the first time in years i am very confident in a good showing at Woodville.

the Power released Broadbent and Stewart.......

Salter up forward gives us a good target....

would like to see Banner keep improving....

Cheep continues to impress......

Redden must play to give us that extra tall ruckman.....

wouldn't be surprised to see Goldsworthy in the league team too....

it would be hard to drop Hill or Miles on last weeks game......

Ahh at least teh unpires will be consistent - well Col will anyways. May not have the best feel for the game but he is consitent - rewards the bloke who gets front position and goes for the footy.

CCL given that both Stewart and Westhoff have been named for their SANFL sides but Broadbent hasn't will he just be collecting frequent flyer points this weekend???
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
