Norwood was tipped by many (not everyone ) to finish top 3 this year, i think i am surprised that we won today after what we have dished up this year but i am not surprised that we played that well. The eagles are just unlucky that they played norwood on a day where they actually played to their expectations or potential. I think i know why we won today and that is because 2 of our biggest ball burners did not play today, massie and lower. I think the players the eagles had missing would not have won you the game but maybe would have been more competetive.

No-doubt it would of made it a more competative hit out if the Eagles had in what they had missing, but they didn't & it still wouldn't of stopped them from getting beaten.

Norwood came to play Saturday & showed why they shouldn't be sitting 3rd bottom, i had them myself in the top 3 & i believe they have the squad to give it a real shake this year, no excuses.

Great Effort by the Legs on Saturday. A few Key points that might have helped us win:
1- The Game was played in the Daytime (Clearly NFC cannot play night football and seem to win a high % of games in Afternoon footy)
2- Played on a Big ground( Big Ovals suit Norwoods run and carry game, where as on smaller grounds like Coopers its to congested and we over use the football)
3- Play on at all cost- (First time all year i seen norwood do this, and do it effectivly, Lots of handball to a running player out the back which left the Eagles flat footed)
4- Bryce Campbell- Just added that toughness around the packs which norwood have missed this year.
There is a long way to go yet Norwood fans so stick with em and who knows we could string a few wins together and get ourelves back into finals contention.

Passador needs more match fitness......

don't be surprised to see Goldsworthy and possibly Smith and Baddley get promoted soon.....

Well spotted centrecirclelegend I noticed Salter come off in the last term of the two's with concern over his knee.He did go back on which was a good sign.
Passador has a turning circle as big as me at present he is still a long way off.

I think Redden should come in as second ruck come FF .
If goldsworthy could stay fit he could be like Hall last year.Dont think we will see him after this year unless he gets drafted by a local club.

Eagles totally non-competitive Saturday. The gap between our best and worst is way too big. I would expect 4-5 changes this week.
In - Shirley, Cheep, Rimmington, R .Fiacchi. Out - Daniel, Shultz, Cullen, Fitzgerald.
On ballers were ineffective against Norwood and playing a 1 on 1 style of game that Ron likes, you have to get the ball first. Norwood should have won by 90+.
Our skill level was deplorable and players like Shultz and Corbett (who are fringe players) were the worst culprits.
Desperately need Salter or Passador back as well.
The win over Centrals papered over a few cracks, we are the fifth best side at best this year.
Luck is where opportunity meets preparation
