Ryan played a half in the Dogs first up league trial against Glenelg and then the full game in the seniors against Westies at Richmond a couple of weeks ago. Played mainly as a running half back flanker, I think he is better suited as a small forward who can play tall. He has a great set of hands, reads the play well and generally disposes of it well.

He did a couple of nice things but was dropped back to the reserves for the Sturt trial last week and played okay in the 2's. Probably needs to work on his foot disposal a bit, after kicking 3 behinds from reasonably easy set shots last week but certainly is a talented young player and was a very good pick up for the Dogs from North Adelaide.

I think he will eventually get his opportunity to play league football next year when Centrals can expect a fairly sizeable exodus of senior players through retirement. Patience will get him there just like Brad Currie in the past, Brayden O'Hara last year and Luke Barmby this season who debuts for the Dogs tomorrow night.

Robert Shirley has not played for the Eagles since 2004, but has 91 matches to his credit.

I know from the above posts that there will be a few Dogs players missing; but for us, the side would look better if Passador, Treeby, Westbrook, Symmons and R.Fiacchi in there. The players who are in the side at the moment will know that they are easily replaceable and should play with that in mind to keep their spot.

The new faces in the line were acknowledged last night at the members night.Great praise was given to the likes of Rowntree ,Almond ,Miles(apologies if I missed anyone out) .For being country kids/lads who travelled down to EVERY training session.
I asked the guys if they had warned Cheepie about Elizabeth but they all laughed and said he'd find out ;) .

An interesting more youthful team.If the Eagles play the style of game they played in the first trial Eagles will win .

GO you mighty high flying EAGLES
