Central Districts to win the SANFL FLAG in 2009

I really think they'll do it.

The difference between Centrals and Geelong is Centrals has a much better recent history of winning when it matters.

Also, I hear John Platten is deadset keen on taking over the reigns when Laird goes, after Platten's country tenure.

I also hear he's a possible candidate for the under 18 coach(?)

Platten will not coach the league side, nor will he coach the under 18's side.

West and the Eagles are the only teams we CAN beat!

Interesting point that Wedgie .The only 2 teams the eagles did not beat this year were North and Port .every other team lost at least once to the Eagles including Centrals .

Beware the eagle in 09 with a couple of recruits who knows we may make the five again .And as CD and the Eagle seconds have proven you do not need to finish top to make the GF.Or in Cd's case win it .

What I find ironic about the 08 season is that our last 2 losses were to North and the eagles neither of them made the finals. On teh other hand every team that finished in the finals were beaten by the dogs the last time they played them in the minor round. Not sure what that means

IMO it means that this is a damn even competition and if anyside takes any other side lightly a loss is a near certainty. Not a lot of difference between the nine sides IMO.

The top three as you see aren't that good that they can rock up to everygame expecting to win. The other sides aren't that far off it.

Rd 2: 42 point loss against Glenelg
Rd 6: 35 point win over Sturt - Sturt kicking the first 5.2 of the match
Rd 7: 17 point loss against Central - the hardest assignment in the SANFL under lights there
Rd 12: 81 point loss against Sturt - our worst performance since the 2004 GF
Rd 13: 84 point win over Central - our best performance since the 2006 GF
Rd 18: 16 point loss against Sturt
Rd 21: 12 point win against Glenelg - after trailing by 5 goals midway through the second, and me cracking the s**ts

We were a fair way behind the top three, simply because of our inability to beat Port and North (accounting for 6 of the 11 losses)

The three wins were stunning
The two losses - commendable

It was almost the "loss we had to have" to get our season going.

Anyone calling McCabe soft is a doubtfull judge of a player. He is one of the toughest players I have seen in a doggies guernsey.
