In another life Coach Ron Fuller must have been the Captain of the Titanic , who sipped champange while listening to the bands delightful version of Mozart , as the grand vessel sank . Quote in todays paper " Some results have not fallen our way but our footy has got progressively better " . " ........................ I hope that steady improvement we have shown can continue " . Amazing ! What solar system is he from ? We havent been up to it most of the time & if anything have slid backwards considerably ! Ron , all us Eagle members will gladly have whatever your having mate ( personly , Ill have a double ! ) . Talk about SPIN , if hes deluding himself after last weeks crap performance , calling that progression ffs , hes lost his marbles . As supporters we deserve alot more honesty then that garbage , whos he think hes kidding , the players or Sturt ? Who could be that thick ; 2 excellent games out of 15 isnt going to trick players , fans or opposition . All the stories about how insular Fuller is must be spot on ; time for Ron to be given a straight-jacket , padded room & a membership with season-ticket to Power games ( home & away ) ! Or State politics would seem an ideal step , maybe leader of the Democrats ........PERFECT ! I hear Boxing promoter Don King is looking for another publicity agent . TIMES UP ! .................................

holden78 I bet you were calling for his head in 2006 too!

how about taking your bat and ball and go and barrack (you obviously don't support the Eagles) for someone else

if you can't then take a leaf out of mickyj's book and make an effort and get close to the bench of even the coaches box and listen to what happens on a match day and listen to the instructions given then you might have a better idea of what really happens

injuries to key players have hurt us all year but so has the attitude of sellfish players and sooks!

sacking a premiership coach whose record speaks for itself and gives his right nacker for the club is not the way to go

I bet there are a lot of the other coaches in the sanfl would like rons coaching record

and some ex ones who would still be coaching if they had it!

My biggest problem with last week was the same old kick the ball to Passador trick .
I hope the club wakes up and if three guys are jumping/standing/holding Passador. We (as a club) find the three free players and they kick the goals and make their opponents accountable.
And while on the bench last week I was impressed with the input that Philipou had .I was a great fan of his Dad and its great to see him passing stuff onto the current players.A coach in waiting as well perhaps.
The only way for the club to go tomorrow is to attack and never stop attacking. That and make sure your guy does not get the ball .simple.

I remember the loss to Port at thebarton in 2006.....supporters were calling for Fuller head........... they were not 6 months later

Although Im unhappy at the way we are playing.....Fuller still has my support.

Let West Torrens/Woodville/WWT's most successful coach leave on his terms.

People are idiots if they think losing Macgowan to Sturt was the start of our demise......... As good a coach as Macgowan has proven to be it would be foolish to overlook the fact he went to a club that had a pretty good squad.... Also remember it was Ron who discovered him and Norman as coaches

I think NORTH may have a bigger claim on Macgowan than we did James

Wouldn't be so sure Mick - he left after less than half a season with Jars blessing, they certainly didn't discover him as a coach. If they had they would have tried to keep him.

Was talking with many of the Eagle faithful yesterday (young ladies you know who you are  and others including ferret ).All of my usual people inform me much like Holden 78 that Ron is contracted to next season and that the board will not sack him .
So while sitting in my spot .I got to chatting with another Eagles fan who's daughter went to school with a certain Eagles player etc etc.And it turns out that this fan is not a fan of Ron Fuller .When I explained the excepted that Ron is contracted for another year .I was very politely told that half the BOARD is coming up for ELECTION and they will get the boot and the new Board will sack Ron. Not to sure what to make of that info.

Then while I was digesting that info was told that a former SANFL Flag winning COACH (not the one in Holden post above so ferret can breathe easy  ) is bored in his current AFL job and would love to Coach the league side at OVAL AVE.

So I am a bit unsure is Ron safe or about to go when the Board changes .And another name has been added to the possible coaches in waiting list.
Cheers

Its just a unconfirmed rumor schimma at this stage.Would be great though if any former eagles player agreed to be his assistant and learn a thing or 2.

He didn't leave with Jars blessing - Jars got rid of him and even if he had stayed at North he still would have got the Sturt job when it came up.

So you admit the attitudes of sellfish players & sooks has hurt us all year , well whose job is it to make sure that it doesnt ? Oh ofcoarse not Fuller , your in spin mode CCL , just like Collingwood ! Above all issues with Ron , its his management of mature players coming into the club since 06 ( not the kids ) which needs a major revue as its way below par to compete in this league . One more poor years work like this one & imagine how far off the pace we would be , considering natural player movement ie. too old , not up to it or draft losses ! Just using JONAS as an example , think of the possibilities that man could give a club as far as recruits goes , not to mention his AFL knowledge re tactics & training . Fuller isnt even in the same league if you had both CVs in front of you , & its your call for the next 3 to 5 years !

As happy as I would be to have a guy like Jonas its not going to happen is it .Unless the board gets voted out and the new regime decides not to keep RON on.Or the club spirals downward the rest of the season and the board is forced to act .But the board like Ron seem set in their ways or to cheap to take the hard road .
