O.K. ... no p**s takes, you asked for the HONEST assessment 8)

Look... in all honestly... I would be SURPRISED if we made the GF.
Have said ALL year, probably 3rd (Go back & see if you like, "Centrals, North, Eagles, then the rest") because...

Centrals are seething about last year's loss (Particularly Roy Laird, anyone who was at the chimney unveilling would agree with that, he didn't like losing, credit to him & his club)

North have the BEST list in the competition (in my view), not sure they have the right coach.
I think they CAN beat us this week... not sure they will (we are travelling very well @ moment).
Don't worry I WILL be barracking as hard as ever !!!

Bays are a REAL Dark Horse for GF spot, don't think they can beat Centrals if Centrals win 2nd Semi, but do think they can beat them in a Preliminary Final.

Sturt... well I said it 5 weeks ago (& in all honesty, a good performance to reach the Major Round, just NOT an ERA... a good young side on the up) 5th

There you go... honest & well rounded (just like me, eh Wedgie ??)

Can Sturt regain their best form against the Rampant Bays?

LEH,

Honestly mate, you have posted more about the Sturt Football Club in these forums than any Sturt supporter has! You are our Marketing Manager's dream! Hats off to you.

I have included the following URL for you to use as it's become quite obvious over recent times that you have a pandemic dose of inferiority complex/SFC envy. I suggest the Vice President package for you. http://www.sturtfc.com.au/index-membership.html

However, if indeed the SFC is currently utilising the services of the vehicular manifesto you claim to be our "bandwagon", can you please let me know who stole it Friday night?? If you want to go and look for it, it's a double blue double decker bus, as opposed to your green, gold and blue Smart car. Thanks for your help LEH! :D

I think the availability of Nelson, Feast, Sheedy and Gum will likely determine the result, particularly Nelson who is an excellent leader and since he has been out Sturt have struggled.

You lot would not have filled a mini bus on Friday night with those that actually went to the game let alone looking for a double decker bus!

Seriously a very poor turn out by a team that was playing for the double chance and now you are truly deserving of the bandwagon tag! I saw more Sturt supporters at games in the late 80's when you lot were collecting spoons than I saw last Friday night.

There is a joke to be made here about Sturt supporters and short buses, but it would be in exceedingly poor taste to actually make it...

Fair call stampy but they shot out to a 50 point lead against a pretty well full strength North so I still think regardless of who lines up for them that they will take some beating. If the mindset hasn't adjusted from last Friday night and Sturt go in feeling sorry for themselves then I think the Bays will win easily however if Sturt play like they did against us for near enough to 4 quarters then it would be no supriose to see them win. Having said that Glenelg gave them a pretty good beating last ime out and save for Sturt kicking the last 5 goals the final margin could have looked a lot worse. Still it will be a good game to watch.

P.S. I owe you a beer too so I'll catch up during the game!

I was always of the understanding that a "bandwagon" supporter group only turns up at the "fair weather" end of the season. If this is the case, the term "bandwagon" and our poor turn out Friday night would seem somewhat incongruent wouldn't they?

PS. My thoughts for what they're worth on crowd support Friday night ~ Even though you guys certainly outnumbered us, particularly in the outer, I didn't hear a peep (except for some Jarman and Coulter sledges) out of your "army" until well into the third term when you got your run on.

Perhaps the true test of a supporter base at any given game is how they support their team when they need them most ie. first half on Friday night.

Your lot didnt exactly pack the rafters. Fair enough you were all cuddled up together under the score board but when you think that both clubs average more at their home games than what turned out on friday night - I wouldnt be blaming the Sturt supporters. The rooster turn out reminded of the mcdermot/hart era when you were all going to the crows games instead - bigger bandwagoners than we have ever been. I remember the late 80s more for the 89 gf - well done bandwagoners.

As opposed to when your team needed some vocal support in the second half as North charged back? Couldn't give that support though could you Rhino - there were not enough there to be vocal!

If your fans don't turn up in the first place surely that is more of an indictment than being a little quite when your trailing badly in a game? At least we turned up in reasonably large numbers - that is a truer test of support. If Sturt were a struggling club you could understand but not to turn up playing for the double chance is poor - no matter what Sturt VP spin you might want to put on it!

Any thoughts from Strut people that the "super pre season of pain" that your team endured has caused many of these injuries?

What alot of dribble! Fair dinkum how old are you guys, we're going into a finals campaign and there's bickering about if someone got more supporters to a game or not! I think all 4 clubs should be ashamed with a crowd of only 2500 and another one of 1700 for 2 games deciding finals placings. Let me get this right, people are bragging about getting about 2000 of their own supporters to the last minor round? Give me a break! Are you proud of this?
If you guys want to vent any vitriol, direct it towards the governing body who let these stupid descisions happen so it doesn't happen again (hopefully).
Sturt/North deserved 6000 as did Eagles/Glenelg, as an example refer back to R16 Sturt/North at Unley about 4500, R22 Glenelg/Sturt at the Bay 5300.
Well programmed games with good crowds, a credit to the clubs and supporters, to bicker over a crowd of 2500 is pointless!
I'll be there again on Sunday, GO YOU BLUES!
