An amazingly extensive list of some of the best young talent to be going around in the SANFL next year.
We should, at the very least, challenge for finals next year.
With all recruits 25 or under, and most 22 or younger, I feel we have a premiership window open for the next 5-10 years.
Are the two Norwood boys still on their way too?
Cheers

Since the AFL aligned clubs have come In, the foundation clubs have shown these days that it’s possible to turn it around in one off-season. Norwood last year a great example, lose something like 15 players, of which many had been stars but were past it (Puopolo, Griggy, Shents etc), with all due respect.

Then bring in something like 17 unknowns and with the right persons and systems in place things can happen. This can happen for the Dogs in 23’ as it can for any of the clubs IF they get it right.

But FFS if you do get it right, let’s not make it for a decade this time alright? ;) :partyman:

Unfortunately that will never happen again, the SANFL gets raided by the AFL too often & easily these days,
I think we will probably lose a couple of our new recruits in the mid season draft.

Schwerdt & Larkins have signed, I'm led to believe.

The club has officially announced this now; great acquisitions.
Welcome to the Ponderosa, boys!

He only started playing football 6 years ago, as a 14 year old.

I think that shows.

Played just the two VFL games in 2021 and averaged a kick and 9 hitouts.

Played in the QAFL for Broadbeach this year and was dropped to the reserves near the end of the year and did not feature in their last 5 or 6 games.

Good coaches can teach ruckman a lot in a relatively short period and you may have to be patient. I would think league football would be a longer term ambition. Could surprise.

Played 17 matches for Broadbeach's A Grade in 2022, was named in their best players 5 times; only played one match in their ressies., all other matches were in their A Grade.
In the 2 matches he played for the Sun's Academy, he totalled 13 disposals and 36 hitouts.
Yes, he is a work in progress, but a promising one.
Cheers

The Central District Football Club is thrilled to announce the signing of former Eagle, Dale Pearce.

Dale a product of the Woodville-West Torrens underage programs where he was part of their winning 2019 U18 Grand Final. Dale spent the 2022 season playing with mates at the Port Districts FC in division 1 in the SAAFL where he discovered his love and enthusiasm for the game again. Pearce was an integral part of the Ports’ premiership side, kicking two goals in the grand final and tallying 34 goals for the season.

A highly talented Key Forward, Dale is comfortable on the lead but does like to fly at the ball and take contested marks. He is a good kick for goal and will be able to compete in the Ruck contests inside our forward 50. Dale possesses excellent skills & agility and can take the ball clean below his knees which makes him a dangerous match up for any defender.

Join us in welcoming Dale to the Bulldogs!

196cms, 98 kgs.

I'm really happy with the recruiting we've done. Midfield and key forward stocks have certainly improved. My only concern is key backs. If we lose Montgomerie to the AFL then we'll need to replace him and Llewellyn.
