Giles would be a good pick up for the Blues in my opinion
They ran out of ruckmen last season at the crunch time
He would be a good foil for Chambo when resting forward
If I was Sturt I would make every endeavour to sign up Giles

They didn't run out they just didn't pick him.

Was just about to write that myself whufc. Was a very strange decision at the time and I still find it strange now.
The only thing that would be stranger than that would be if Ukfan doesn't write the next post telling me how stupid and crap we really are and if we could ever make a banner as big as Centralsssss one in the GF we might win ;)

You could of made a banner 4kms wide and 2 storeys high voice. Sturt still would have been handed a footballing lesson GF day by the dogs.

Good to see my advice about the banner has been taken on board though. ;)

Certainly some worrying signs for the bays atm.

How do the Sturt fans think Norman will use Hinge as a forward or defender ???

Jonathon Giles is a definite out for Centrals.

with all of Sturt's "ins', surely it's time for the Salary Cap paranoia to be directed at Sturt now instead of North?
Especially since North have been cleared....

Can any Sturt fan tell me how a club that allegedly can't pay all its players on time (some are more special than others but they all do get paid eventually) can afford $50 000 in transfer fees for both these players, allegedly...

Must text Hingey that he needs to make sure his contract ensures he is one of the "special" players if the rumours of his move are true...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Punk? Barto? MST? SANFLnut?

Come on down :D

Whilst the article above mentions Lucas Block will decide his future within a month, I thought he had signed somewhere in the Hills with Fisher hadn't he ?

Both players have signed with Mount Barker.

Apart from Golden Dynasty's penis substitute banner carry on (mine's bigger than yours etc) has there been a sadder post than this on SAFooty?

I met the cousin of Nathan Bassett's holistic healer once but you don't see me going on about it. :D

Serious question, but I thought Sturt weren't far behind Port when it came to the monies stakes, has there been a turnaround there?
Interested if someone has more info.

I bet Hinge didn't give him the number either.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Yes there has.

Sturt have turned it around and doing OK these days. People banging on about how broke we supposedly are is past information. The income stream from the Castle is coming through and Bar Zaar isn't a money pit like people seem to believe. The advance payment from the SANFL was put to good use and a business model put in place to ensure the long term financial stability of the club and that is now reaping the dividend.

There's only one club in trouble and it aint us.

considering they pay their part time coaches a full time salary and have for a few years I doubt their were ever any financial problems at Sturt....

How do you know so much about our club Dutch? Can't remember if it was you calling punky a closet Tigers fan but you are sure sounding like you take a massive interest in what Sturt do and don't do. Our club has many, many volunteers that do a hell of alot of work to save and earn the club money, even more so once our finances were revealed last year.
What we do have though is some very financial people who support our club and they don't mind using some coin to help us out. All above board before anyone jumps on that comment.
Salary cap however? (this isn't in response to you Dutch, this is just in general) Who cares. I'm sure every club in the league has bent the rules as it is so very easily done as long as you have creative accountants. My club wouldn't be immune to it and neither would any other.
