yes, after all I believe he did come to Central to improve his chances of getting drafted to the AwFuL.

I believe Sturt will challenge Central strongly in 2008, due to appropriate recruiting and an happy United Footy Club. :)

Rugolo, if he can get and stay fit, should be a pretty handy in for the Maggies.

Not Ins
Tom Chadwick (returned to club) Not Coming, work does not allow time
Jason Eagle (Irymple) Changed his ming, staying at mildura

Ins
Kurt Thompson (Riverina NSW)
Steven Morris (Western Jets) Son of Kevin Morris who did the work at souths recently and ex west coach

Copy of an article about the lad
WESTERN Jets forward Steven Morris is enjoying his football again after two frustrating seasons battling injury.

Morris, the son of Richmond premiership player Kevin, received a lifeline from the Jets this year as an under-19 player. And a full season in the TAC Cup has allowed the 18-year-old to showcase his skills.

"All I've ever really wanted to do was to play league footy and I honestly thought my opportunity was gone after last year," Morris said yesterday. "To get a second chance has been great."

His father, a tough ruck-rover, played 110 games with the Tigers from 1971-76 and was a member of the 1973-74 premiership teams. He also played for Collingwood from 1978-81.

Morris, who is known for his courage in and around the packs, said his father was instrumental in his career. "From what I've heard, Dad used to be pretty fearless and tough," Morris said.

"He gives me sound advice and it's good to have that father figure who knows what he is talking about."

The Jets finished fifth at the end of the season and play eighth-placed North Ballarat Rebels today in the first elimination final at Princes Park.

Morris said he was relieved to be playing finals football after two years in the wilderness.

"Playing such a high level of football during September is fairly exciting," he said

"I haven't felt like this coming into a game before. I'm fairly excited and also nervous about the game."

Watched Steven Morris train Wednesday night, very pacey and well balanced, another interesting about this lad is as a midfielder kicked 31 goals last season, Gray the year before in the TAC kicked 50 odd, very similar players

Rugulo to Port...his fitness has always been ok, it is just the fact that he is slow that he could not hold his spot at the Eagles.
He may add something to the Magpies, especially on heavy grounds but his impact will probably be about as much as another recruit from the Eagles two years ago...Roc Harry.
Vinnie is a nice lad and has excellent skills but he will need to triple his possesions to become a success again in the SANFL.

AFL clubs draft primarily from Victoria because it's the strongest football state.
Where would you like us to recruit from LBT?

Those players come to the club as juniors and finish up moving into the senior squad (if the player is good enough, of course). They aren't recruits, they are players who belong to the club already.

The facts are that in recent years West have had one of the highest proportions of 'local' players in the comp, including several Riverland players. West have certainly debuted more young players than any other club by far. West have also lost more quality AFL draftees than any other club.

It hasn't done us much good.

Following that, I'd be happy if the following West juniors were still available:

Adam Cooney
Beau Waters
Sam Fisher
Byron Schammer
Cameron Wood
Shaun Rusling
Jordan Russell
Tim Schmidt
Chris Schmidt
Adam Hartlett
Stephen Tiller
Ben Rutten

I might have missed one or two, but I think that lot says it all.

Wedgie! What's your opinion of the NAFC losing Josh Cubillo to the Mighty Double Blues?

Would welcome your rating of him as a possible 150 game plus player for the SFC.

Cheers!

Sounds more like he's suggesting that if Sturt were to be challenging Centrals, then Centrals must fall because he can't see Sturt going up...
