The SANFL was too chicken livered to give Port Magpies their marching orders back in 1997 when it should have and now all the chickens are back to roost. Again the SANFL will be too weak to stand up to the Power of Port and that will end up being the death of the whole competition in the future.

Told you so

I'll ask a few questions of our President on Sunday.
For the record, I'm ok for the reserves comp. I'm all for a compromise and fully recognise their desires/needs for reserves teams.

Reserves level according to my sources. I can accept that begrudgingly.
Two new points entered my mind tonight:
Sadly next week willl be the last Port - Norwood match at Alberton and if there are no byes next year will ANY team play in the Foxtel Cup??

Can and should still have byes with 10 teams.
More is the point, what happens to the AFL players when there's scheduled byes in the AFL? Is it part of AFLPA contracts that they get one or two byes?

there won't be 10 teams in the SANFL League division. There won't be 9 either.

While I can live with the reserves-reserves concept, there's always the danger that once they've got their foot in the door, they'll swan in sooner or later.

I think the most depressing thing is that for all of the die hards who will accordingly quit the SANFL (and I'll be among them) in such a scenario, the SANFL with Puffs and Clones will probably get its biggest crowds and media coverage in eons

The Channel 7 story, with "understands" being the key word here. Nothing factual. (wishful thinking?)

Its a sad state that due to the AFL clubs arrogant attitude the SANFL will lose supporters either way this goes.

imho every state should be able to have a state league without the interference of the AFL (expanded VFL)

why would I even bother, you would just make some crap up to say I haven't answered it, the funny thing is the reason my answer isn't good enough is the same as your answer. You have no proof to back up your answer, yes like it or not you are basing your answer on a assumption. You don't know if the SANFL is going to end up the VFL or WAFL. And i've never gone into hiding i've always been here. It's actually funny to listen to you sometimes make crap up on the spot and think it's all good. Here's a little tip for you go and have a llok at the major sponsor of all the sanfl clubs, they all come from industry that are dead in australia. Why do you think the AFC want a answer in September? They don't the AFL want's to know before they hand of the cash for the license. The way things are going I'd actually prefer the crows and power reserves to go to a country league and play, because it will soon become a higher standard game then the sanfl.

Thats where your wrong again, i do have proof the SANFL clubs enjoy having the AFL players come back to them which is from the hundreds of chats i have had to people involved in the CDFC (which posters who know me would know the people im talking about) as well as players like Ian Callinan who absolutely loving playing for the Dogs when they arent selected.

Anyway until you give benefits that are legitmate anything you post is null and void and nothing more than a kickinit opinion piece with nothing to back it up.

You are probably the poster on SAFooty who asks for people to provide evidence for their posts more than anyone else on this site yet not once have you posted anything with substanial proof/evidence or anything to back up your opinion/guess.

UNLIKE the many other posters on here who have produced evidence of history and other leagues which have been affected.

Like it has been said on here hundreds of times, the Power and the Crows are well within their rights to want and have a reserves side BUT there is absolutely no reason it has to be in the SANFL League competition.

The SANFL has been around for 130 odds years it doesnt need to take teams who are soley using it as a cost cutting exercise.
Oh well it will all come out in the wash.
