Pay attention everyone this happened in the West last week.

What other sporting comps in the world have a proffesional sporting club taking on a semi sporting club in league competition.

I can't think of any

That is a concern. I haven't bought into the idea that the Crows and Power will be weak opposition in the SANFL. The teams might start off with a lot of half arsed SAAFL players chipping in, but I don't think it will be long before this is obviously not helping the AFL players and soon you'll have decent country and local players becoming the top up players.

The only argument I can see against it is Sturt. They often had 6-7 AFL players in the team and still only won 7 games, so they're almost an argument in favour of the Crows team being ordinary.

Agree about the Sturt part and throw in the fact the 6-7 players will be surrounded by ammos rather than the likes of Crane, Greenslade, Coad etc etc

I think what u will find with the Crows is that there will be a pretty clear pattern between games won and amount of AFL players that week.

Cale Morton a former Claremont player is the son of Claremont legend Noel Morton who was told he had to play with East Perth this season upon his return from Melbourne where he was picked up by the Eagles.

Just wait when every player on a your club list who is AFL listed fronts up against you.

East Perth where in the bottom 3 for most of the season but started to gel in the second half of the season and stormed into the finals in the last two weeks of the season. They will only get stronger next season.

2000 - 02 the Royals were the host club for all Eagles players funny thing happened they won 3 premierships in a row!!!!

Think about it it could happen here!!!!!!!

Postby on the rails » Fri Sep 20, 2013 12:54 pm

Beenreal's post just sums up perfectly the arrogant "don't give a shit" attitude from the majority of the PAFC to the SANFL - consistent with their high and almighty attitude over the decades.

HOWEVER I blame the incompetent and moronic SANFL Bosses (Olsen, Whicker, Davies), Commission members, League Directors and Club CEO's (including North) who allowed the PAFC to have a diffferent model. I could, given what was explained re the Crows model accept the yes vote and continue with my support for NAFC and SANFL, however the vote to allow Port their model was the final straw for me personally. This was after we were assured that the SANFL would stand strong and united and not allow the PAFC any model other than the Crows. 2 weeks later the pircks caved in!

I have tipped buckets on my club and CEO for their inconsistency and lies and severed all ties with my club last week and I will not attend any more SANFL games which started with missing the Elimination Final. How can we have a comp that is relevant and not compromised when 8 part time semi professional organisations are playing under one set of rules and conditions yet 2 full time professional AFL teams are each given their own sets of rules and conditions to operate / play under! Where is the integrity (and fairness) in that?

All through the AFL Reserves debate we have heard the words integrity, compromised and relevance used by all clubs but in the end the Clubs and the Directors (including South and Centrals re the Port vote) have found not have acted with any great integrity and by their decisions, how relevant and compromised will the SANFL be in 2014 and years to come?

Integrity - those lying c...s in power at all the clubs and at the SANFL should look up the meaning of the word!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

We may be crying poor. But we've never run a donate $ to save our club campaign. What was it, $2? There were probably supporters of other SANFL clubs who contributed to that cause, hoping for your survival and a strong SANFL, and you've gone and and shat on them...again.

Well Geelong and Hawthorn's reserves drew a mammoth 15,000 to the VFL Grand Final today at an indoor stadium.
But the Cows will draw 4,000 every week to a minor round game
