I know its an advert but I find it difficult that tax payers are paying footballers to play at SANFL level , surely the footy is not the major income of majority of players ?
Most players I know under 23 are at Uni with a Part Time job, so footy would easily be their No. 1 income. Remembering they get job with the DofEtaxed on their payments so how can people say they shouldn't be getting payments as employees like any other business?
I think the ATO ruling was that any contracted player was eligible for JobKeeper as PPT. Those with 2 casual jobs were able to declare which casual job was their primary job, and it wasn't income based. In my case, I have a casual teaching role with DofE, who as a government entity, don't meet the employer criteria, so, it was a no brainer for me.
