Nah not Matty, he has a new job at the SANFL which procludes him from playing league footy. Not sure who it is but hope he realises that whilst he will be guaranteed a League match he may not be guaranteed match payments... ;)

His job at the sanfl is safe regardless of if he goes bush or not.

Keep trying Punky ... how's you mob gone against this alleged rabble of a team in the past few years?

What? ... Can't hear you? Thought so.

stick your head in the sand all you like, but I don't see how a player exodus at Glenelg is related to a couple of shallow victories of the Roosters- didn't get you a flag did it?
I correctly predicted your mob to choke, & what happened?

Anyway, if my club had players falling over themselves to leave, I'd be worried- very worried.

I actually finds Punky's deep seated interest in the Glenelg Footy Club rather flattering. Given his number of posts regarding Glenleg I actually thiunk he is a closet Bays supporter and just isn't prepared to admit it.

To help put Punky's mind at rest though the number of senior players who came back to training early in order to maximise our clubs prearation for 2010 is rather heartening, certainly not something you'd expect of a club in "crisis"...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Go your hardest Punky, it's all fun and games mate ... it looks like you're enjoying your 5 mins of fame so all the best with it. A career at Today Tonight beckons.

No actually, not worried at all. It helps a bit when you have the facts.

Here's a challenge for you ... select the best available Glenelg league side, taking into account the players that have been confirmed as leaving. Guess what, unfortunately for you it's still a very strong side because hardly any regular league players have actually left.

Isn't it a real bastard when facts get in the way of a good story?

Yes, an unfortunate but true fact ...

A club that loses both finals by 2 and 5 points to miss out on the big dance, has just won the reserves and U18's flags (indicating depth) and who still has one of the best coaches going around ... I don't see why a supporter wouldn't be itching for the season to start.

Feel free to write them off ...

The East Perth Football Club would like to formally announce that is has signed the services of ex- Brisbane Lion Jason Roe for the 2010/11 WAFL seasons.

East Perth also have Jarrod Oakley-Nicholls back training with them. It was rumoured a few SANFL clubs had spoken with him.

I haven't managed to get to training yet Micky ... a bit hard with my work commitments at the moment .. but I've had some feedback.

In answer to your question, the Eagles are in the situation whereby having a new coach naturally creates expectation and excitement ... you can see that in the posts on this site.

For the Bays, there has obviously been some soul searching to rectify the bitterly disappointing end to last season. So I'll leave it to others to confirm, but my expectation is that pre-season will be more demanding and focused (not that it hasn't been in the past), and to emphasise that near enough isn't good enough. I also think that getting the boys back on the track will alleviate some of the hurt as they will be itching to prove themselves.

Anyway, early days as the seniors have just started training, including some of the so called outs.

I'd like to know how Roe is fitting in to their salary cap considering the money he is on. A few clubs were chasing him, both SANFL and WAFL but the kind of coin that East Perth are giving him is comparable to being on an AFL list. Add in the job they got him and I doubt he gives a stuff about being delisted.

If a shitty club has 13 flags I'd hate to think of how you'd describe clubs that can count their flag on one hand or maybe our swear filter would stop you from expressing your thoughts on your own club. ;)

Agreed, they're supposed to have half the salary cap we have yet North couldn't justify coming close to what East Perth offered. It was an offer way too good for Roey to turn down. Maybe they just have it in writing to appease the AFL but pay no attention to it?

probably svlerdoff or whatever his name is - big deal, big head and no league future - there is so much pessimism out there, but all the main losses are the Ressies players who have been there for 3-4 years and not cracked league footy - the depth is there with the juniors so let's get on with it - from the league side, the losses are Fisher and ...............Fisher!!! Block was getting there, but not a standout .. plenty of kids to take his place, Lachie McGregor played 1 league game last year, Duldig, very few, Day 0, Guillhouse 0, Liebelt 4-6, let's see what transpires and who steps up... it is time for the change of the guard and the Hicthcocks of the world will star if given their chances and opportunities.

Direct quote from a profile person in the WAFL: "brown paper bags".

The salary cap in both leagues has always been laughable and there's ways and means around it. A player from Perth has moved to another club and suddenly finds himself paying less rent than anyone else in the area.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
