They both get EXACTLY the same or the deal is off. So yes wait for it .... the Crows will get the same deal.

With the contrived situation we are all now in, I fail to see why the "must have the same model" line keeps getting rolled out. Why not just work towards what works best for all?

On that basis Centrals have a salary cap of $600,000 which they can afford and Sturt have a cap of $200,000 which they can afford.
Is that fair ?

Not just the Crows is my mail, maybe now, finally, the clubs might do something about the commission?

on the rails wrote:Watch the SANFL bend over and modify that to help the Crows. If that did happen then the 8 other clubs will be fighting a losing battle in trying to limit the strength of the two AFL club who could with no age limit on top up players quite easily attract very good SANFL League players to those squads despite the payment per game restriction. There are plenty of ways AFL clubs could hide payments / benefits beyond the $400 a game paid to a listed SANFL only player.

Would be as easy as "We're considering you for our AFL list"

I would imagine that they do.

In turn, does Freo or West Coast have the same link to a WAFL club as Port Adelaide? No, they dont.

It is a unique situation the PAFC/SANFL faces. It's clear the SANFL would like to minimize the impact of AFL reserves in the SANFL and part of that is the PAFC structure.

They talk about 'governance' in the AFL at the moment with the Essendon drug's scandal.

How are we going on that front?? Every day there is a back flip, a new surprise just around the corner in relation to the AFL Reserves issue in the SANFL. Precious little publicly available as Olsen and the rest of them preside over the biggest farce in our game.

How many statements have been made that, in the passage of time, have turned out to be worthless?
No one has any trust or believe in the rigour of what is going on. The shifting sands will end up destroying much that is worthwhile.

I know some people who are in despair at our so called governance. I don't really blame Port or Cows for this, i blame the so called guardians of our game for the shameful conduct of this issue.

Yeah exactly, I don't see why the two AFL clubs can't have different models.

I just think seeing they are both development teams they should both only have Under 22 players outside of the AFL list. I'm staggered the commission changed that at the last minute without discussion with SANFL clubs. They are a joke.

x 2.

'Used Car Salesman', all.
"Trust Us. We are here to look after our... err, your interests" 8)

The whole thing has been badly managed & hastily decided upon - Olsen is a stooge!
Shameful what has conspired over the past 3 to 6 months :(
Integrity?
How can one define it, if one never models (or acts), using it?

Even the 'proudest' & one of the oldest Clubs in the State will become 'Compromised' due to the 6 weak & selfish Directors.
This decision will destroy the remaining autonomous State League.
Sad state of events.

Do we really need a commission to run the SANFL. It's certainly not the big business it once was.
Surely delegates from the clubs(replace directors) can be responsible for day to day running of the competition and consultants used as to the best plan of attack for the SANFL's assets.

Maybe I would be expecting to much of the clubs?

It would be bigger business given they currently own 2 AFL licenses, are part owners of SMA, need to work out what to do with West Lakes, plus run the SANFL competition and be the head of all of footy in SA. Plenty for them to do I would think.

In 3-6 months we have gone from being the best standalone comp outside the AFL to the second best even third best AFL reserves comp behind the VFL and WAFL.

I have never seen a comp eat its own head off so quickly and lose all the integrity it had, Paris Hilton has more integrity in her little toe than the SANFL commission does combined

Maybe a protest at Aami pre game this weekend is on the cards

Eric would be handy!!!! Held by cdfc cheer squad seeing as our board, coach, fans don't support this garbage.

Rest if the clubs need to protest to their boards not SANFL

I intend to protest to my board. By never renewing my membership again.

The comp has become a debacle. Whatever concessions Port are allowed will of course also have to be offered to the Crows. And all this is for $50,000 a year per club and the vague suggestion of a possible TV deal. Incredible...

How they weren't made to put forward a combined proposal is simply embarrassing.
