I would love to see my club compete against interstate clubs but understand the doggies reasons for staying out.

It is my hope that the key issues are addressed so that the doggies can't say no.

A substantially increased prize money and better recognition of club sponsors would be a good start.
We used to be good :-(

Claremont won the World Cup infront of a crowd of 20.
Great to see the comp designed as a fill in between AFL games being played at 9pm on a Thursday Night :?

Good for them... best club outside the AFL... 15.9 to 8.7 for those interested...

Great 44pt win by the Tigers and a reasonable crowd for a Thursday night game in Perth for the WAFL.
Claremont wanted to win this comp after being runners up last year.
Professional club who took this comp seriously and are $60,000 richer and hasn't hurt their chances for the WAFL flag.
Won last weeks game against second place East Fremantle by massive margin. They are the Premier club outside the AFL.
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

How was the crowd, I honestly think there was more players than supporters

The Top 3 clubs in the VFL would be quaking in their boots at the thought of having to play the World Cup Runners up in the finals this year. Werribee are only 4th in the VFL for a reason.
Claremont were always going to win tonight by plenty, far better side than Werribee

The competition will die unfortunately... might not even run next year... AFL just hasn't bothered to organise it properly and the SANFL boycot essentially makes it pointless... its a real disappointment for fans I reckon.

And I think they had 3 of their top 5 or 6 players not playing last night, either...

Claremont are by far the better team hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Werribee played with 12 AFL listed players and still couldn't win.

Out Gunned & Out Played by a determined team.

Barry Hall was shocking as commentator gave Claremont no respect!!!!!

What I did notice is that our comp is far different in gamestyle with Bassett and Collins really having changed the way teams need to overcome zone pressure/pressing! There was none of that last night which lined up with what R. Fuller said to me after one of their games in Melbourne, he was a bit suprised at how it was all about quick movement outside and trying to avoid contested situations. If Norwood played Claremont, the Tigers wouldn't know what to do with Bassett's tactics in a one off match

As we know, AFL listed doesn't necessarily make them a better player than non-afl listed.

We don't know for sure which team is the best but the only way to stake a legitimate claim is to compete against teams from other leagues.
Claremont, the best team in the WAFL, has done that and succeeded so they are entitled to be considered the best. Outside of doing this, any presumptions of being the best are just a self-serving delusion.

ludicrous statement again. But I'm not to comment.....better not comment on the AFL either, as I don't follow a side in that comp.

Your team (like mine) had its chance to compete and backed out... which means they deserve the accolades. There's other examples of teams removing themselves from competitions for their own reasons and no one's running around saying the eventual winner doesn't legitimately deserve the title / accolades etc as the best... i.e FA Cup a number of years back.

If any club actually fielded a full-strength team at any stage, that may be true. The have the best b grade of all entrants, little more.

I think Claremont has more than fair reason to claim they are the best state league club at the moment,

A) Their record at state league level over the past three years is the equal of any one else.
ie no other State League side has a better record.

In addition

B) they have played in both Foxtel Cup grand finals winning one.

and

C) they have managed their Foxtel Cup participation without it affecting its state league performance so far.

they can claim what they like, it's still wrong. No-one knows and won't know who the best is.
