I thought McGregor was going to play with the eagles next year.

What happened there?

No grizzling from me, if you only chase the cash and not the Team success, not wanted at The Parade!

How time changes things , maybe he is doing what Norwood did in the 80's chasing cash and sucess
If at first you don't succeed , then destroy all evidence that you tried in the first place

Could the GUMmi bears at CD v Glenelg game next year have some extra meaning?

Jace Bode to Norwood.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

2011 Coaching Appointments

Glenelg Football Club is pleased to announce its new-look coaching line-up for season 2011.

Having impressed the Club with his leadership of our Premiership-winning U18 team this year, Kris Massie has been elevated to the role of Reserves Coach for 2011.

Former Adelaide Crow Ken McGregor has been appointed in his first coaching role as forward-line Assistant Coach whilst former Glenelg U18 Premiership Coach Ian Cox takes on the mid-field and also an advisory role to Senior Coach Mark Mickan.

Complementing this line-up on game days will be the experienced combination of Steven Rowe and Jon Symonds.

These appointments come at the conclusion of the Club’s football review which identified a need to reconfigure the coaching panel for 2011 to achieve an optimum blend of technical skills, experience and leadership styles to work under the direction of Senior Coach Mark Mickan.

Glenelg Football Club is excited about these appointments on the eve of our 2011 pre-season campaign.

Taking on the Reserves position was a natural progression for Kris after a highly impressive year with the U18’s whilst Ken will bring a wealth of experience from his playing days particularly in forward line structure. Ian’s experience, energy and knowledge of our Club is a standout and will provide great support to Mark.

Senior Coach Mark Mickan said, “It is clear that there is tremendous resolve within the Glenelg Football Club to maintain our strong minor round form and to step up in the Finals. The restructured coaching panel is very committed and energised to achieving this outcome,” he said.

The Club is now in the process of recruiting an U18 coach for season 2011 following the promotion of Massie. The Club wishes to acknowledge and thank Jason Blair and Jack Horan for their contribution in 2010.

Kind regards,

I'm advised that Michael Handby has signed with North. No surprise there.

Nathan Eagleton still shopping on the Parade.

Good to see the man who described "his" Legs as "us" and "we" only 2 months ago staying on at Glenelg!
Hard to imagine why the players go missing when it counts when a coach shows such undivided loyalty!

I know that Glenelg definitely gave him a call a few weeks ago but they weren't offering him enough money. Must have bumped up their offer above $40000.

If he continues to call AFL games on AA then there is bound to be a couple of clashes?

Not sure what else Glenelg were expected to do, the decision time for Backwell was when the games were on offer in Darwin and he made his choice accordingly?

The rules around transfer fees need to change.

If a club sacks a player they should not be getting a transfer fee if the player goes to another club.

Or at least to be on the so called "1-35" list you should have at least played a league game in the last 12 months.

Id be interested to hear a few Bay supporters views on whether a bloke like Backwell should have been welcomed back into the fold considering he has made a mistake and done the time and I presume wanted to return full of remorse ????

As for North picking up Handby, why do we need another old, slow and unfit HACK who Ive never been impressed with. I thought we were supposedly heading in a new positive direction. Wake up North
