Disgraceful decision by the club and I have let them know my thoughts and they will cop a barrage of abuse at the next home game.
Am deeply hurt by the clubs position on this :(

Have they given any reason for their change of decision?

Im led to believe Joe is a steadfast NO and if the decision was his own it would be a definate NO.
Unfortunately he is outnumbered by other pissweak, gutless board members who are pro Cows.

I am sorry to hear this. Looks like a fait accompli now.

I know I don't like what is going to happen. I just don't know how I'm going to react.
The thought of giving up something I love, the SANFL, not just Centrals, is something I find hard to comprehend. But I also feel like my family and I have been disrespected. The AFL expansion seemed to be a good thing, something that was acceptable to us all at the time, despite the initial ructions which caused the Crows to be formed. But this...it just feels like our clubs have gone belly up and they don't even know why. "Why must we allow this to happen?" "Dunno, we just should I guess. We have been asked nicely after all."

According to the speech given by Chiggy (and also from what I can gather was said at the North and Eagles meetings) the directors must vote independently of their clubs in the interests of football in SA according to the constitution. Chiggy made it very clear that it had to be HIS decision as a director and not a club decision. So in theory at least, you shouldn't blame other board members for any change in Norwood's stance.

But who knows what you can really believe...

Sadly, the vote will be in favour of AFL football in SA, not football in SA.
If it was for football in SA, the Crows would accept a spot in the SANFL reserves, where there playing strength determines they should be.

Talk of people abandoning the competition altogether is pretty severe. The only scenario that would see me stop supporting the club I've loved for 35 years would be a Crows takeover.

And that sadly is the directors' view. What's good for our club comes first. What's best for the league overall dismissed with a casual ambivalence

Call me selfish, but I'd like Sturt to have some hope of remaining as an ongoing entity into the future. Agree that Crows entry is not the best thing for the SANFL though.

I don't like it either and am disappointed it will happen. I understand the reasoning from Sturt's point of view, but what reason would a South or Norwood have to vote yes? Wouldn't be about $$$ for them...

The reasoning given by Bohdan at the North information night was that the directors need to vote on what's best for the competition as a whole not just what is best for their club. Bohdan argued that if the Crows weren't allowed in Sturt and West would not survive and the SANFL would become a 6 team competition and lose all relevance. He failed to answer the question when asked directly how he would vote if it was purely in the interests of North.

I'm not saying you're selfish - we're all fiercely protective of our clubs. But the league MUST come first and the league is being royally and willingly screwed up the clacker

I still do not understand how Norwood were seduced.

Turns out they huffed and puffed but all it was just hot flatulance.

Also from my club the noise is deafening !!!!!!

Was only ever the President in opposition to it, not the rest of the board, and it was always going to come down to a board decision. Tried to warn people.

What I've been hearing for the last week is a 7-1 vote in favour. The only club to vote no is South Adelaide.

6-2 according to C9. South and Centrals the exceptions. Tripodi looked like he had been muzzled by others :( He looked far from happy

C7 believe Trigg will soften his "8-0 or nothing" stance.
